That being the case, many players search for things like how to play Cypher better and what the VALORANT Cypher tactics are. So that we do not leave these queries unanswered, we have come to you with a guide. How do you need to set up on the Ascent and Split maps? We think you will enjoy the guide we prepared for this and similar content. Here are some VALORANT Cypher tactics we will give you!

What Are VALORANT Cypher's Abilities?

Like all other Valorant Agents, Cypher comes equipped with four abilities. Two of his abilities must be bought with credits (basic abilities), one is given at the start of every round (Signature Ability) and the other is earned by collecting points (Ultimate Ability).

C Ability — Trapwire (200 Credits):

This ability is an invisible trap. It is an ability that opponents cannot pass through these points, and even if they try to pass, it will tag them. If the opponent passes too fast, they cannot see this trap. But if the opponent approaches the trap slowly, they can break it without being caught. But do not forget! When it is broken, you get a callout saying "Oh, my trap is gone". Also, if you die, your traps are disabled.

Q Ability — Cyber Cage (100 Credits):

This ability can act as a kind of smoke. It can take you invisibly through places you could not otherwise pass. This ability also has a nice feature: if our opponents get caught in this cage or try to pass through, it makes a sound. From this sound we understand that our opponents are next to us. To activate this cage, you need to press the F key, or whichever activation key you have chosen.

E Ability — Spycam (1 free):

This ability is a camera. You can see everything where you throw it live yourself. Also, if you see an opponent while in the camera and aim toward them and press Mouse1, you throw a dart that goes toward them. This dart will reveal their position as long as your opponent does not remove it from themselves. This ability is a signature ability. If your opponent breaks this camera, you can throw it again after 45 seconds. Did you throw the camera in the wrong place and want to take it back? You can press the F key and place it again wherever you like after 15 seconds.

X (Ultimate) Ability — Neural Theft (6 Points):

The agent's ultimate ability is a kind of ability used for vision purposes. You can use this ability on a recently dead opponent. After you kill an opponent, or after your teammate kills one, if you go over to them and press the X key, the locations of all your opponents will be revealed after a short time.

How Should You Play VALORANT Cypher?

VALORANT Cypher setting up a camera on a defended site

Cypher's strengths definitely apply to defense. With his camera and traps, you will not have to stick your head out and risk being crushed just to get information. Before the round starts, take some time to place some traps and cages, because the enemy cannot hear you setting them up. Then, when they inevitably walk into them, you have instant vision for an easy kill.

So, if Cypher is this suited to defense, what happens on the attacking side? Do not let the agent's Sentinel style fool you, as Cypher can be just as effective on offense. Use your traps at the start of a round to make sure no annoying defender is trying to execute a flank. You definitely need to leave a trap behind you, especially if you are going into a site area. Otherwise there is a high chance of being flanked. It is a win-win: either you catch them for easy intel, or they shoot it - which gives away their position - or they have to turn back.

Cypher's traps are also a perfect device for holding a site area. Placing a trap to cut off access points to the bomb can be a simple way to prevent a ninja defuse.

VALORANT Cypher Tactics

The tactics we will give you are defense examples. The videos you will watch shortly are the trap, cage and camera uses that I personally use on the Ascent and Split maps. I personally recommend using this method. But there is one thing I want to draw your attention to: although these tactics are entirely personal, your own tactics and your own placements may be better. We hope you will use these tactics, which we give as examples for you..
