With Wild Rift's latest patch, the newest champion Kindred has been added to the game. Kindred will be playable tonight. Wolf and Lamb, always together yet never truly one, Kindred represents the twin essence of death. Who is Wild Rift's Kindred? What's their story? What are their abilities? Let's take a look for players curious about Kindred.
Who Is Wild Rift's Kindred? What's Their Story?
A being of two different aspects and appearances. Always together, distinct from one another yet never truly apart, Wolf and Lamb make up Kindred, the twin essence of death. The Lamb's bow swiftly frees those who accept their fate from the mortal world. The Wolf, meanwhile, hunts down those who flee their fate, turning their final moments into agony with its fangs. Though Kindred's nature is interpreted differently across Runeterra's many corners, every mortal is destined to choose the true face of their own death. One of the many legends surrounding Kindred's origin speaks of a "pale, black-haired man" who was "so alone" that he "split himself in two."
"In the beginning, Kindred was a single being, a god of death isolated from others by its very nature. Alone and yearning for companionship, it took an axe and split itself in two, becoming the Lamb and the Wolf. The two remain deeply bound to one another."
What Are Wild Rift Kindred's Abilities?
- Passive - Mark of the Kindred: Kindred can mark targets for the hunt. When a hunt is completed successfully, Kindred's basic abilities are permanently strengthened. Every 4 successfully completed hunts also increases Kindred's basic attack range.
- Dance of Arrows: Kindred dashes in a direction and fires up to three arrows at nearby targets.
- Wolf's Frenzy: Wolf becomes enraged and attacks nearby enemies. Lamb passively builds up stacks by moving and attacking. Once the stacks are fully charged, Lamb's next attack restores health.
- Mounting Dread: Lamb takes a careful shot that slows the target. If Lamb lands two more attacks on the target, Wolf pounces on the target on the third hit, dealing massive damage to the weakened target.
- Lamb's Respite: Kindred makes all units in a certain area unable to be killed. No one can be killed until the effect ends. When it ends, units are healed.
Kindred's Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
- High damage.
- High mobility.
- Can jump over walls.
- Strong in the late game.
- Can secretly steal dragons.
Weaknesses:
- Difficult to learn.
- Vulnerable to CC.
Champions who can pull Kindred out of their ultimate include Vayne, Lee Sin, Poppy, Gragas, and Alistar; Janna is also a good pick against Kindred.
Kindred's drawback is that they deal sustained damage rather than burst damage. Kindred's ultimate can neutralize large amounts of burst damage, but it can't hold up against sustained damage. The more stacks Kindred gains, the stronger they become. Since Kindred mostly deals physical damage, buying armor is very effective against them.
