Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Release Date, Platforms and Price (July 2022)

Now that James Cameron's Avatar series is finally ready to return to the big screen, Ubisoft is preparing to release its own official Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game in the coming months. The game promises to be a showcase of what the newest consoles, such as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, can do, as players will be able to explore the beautiful world of Pandora. Here is everything we know!

When Is the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Release Date?

Ubisoft's stated release date is only 2022. Frankly, that is a wide window, but a specific launch date has not yet been announced. As we have often seen in the last few years, games can experience multiple delays, and there is no firm guarantee of when Frontiers of Pandora will come out.

First, the next big Avatar film, which is expected to be followed by three more sequels from Cameron in the coming years, will be released at the end of 2022. Releasing the game near this window could have a lot of the synergy Ubisoft might want. Second, during its most recent financial report, Ubisoft stated that the game would be released before its next fiscal year, which ends April 1, 2023, is over. That gives us a different window to work with, though still one with plenty of 2022 in it. Some leaks point to November 18, but that is not something we can confirm.

Which Platforms Will Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Be On?

Frontiers of Pandora will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. The developers used the Snowdrop engine to build it, and it is expected to be one of the best-looking games on consoles this year.

There is no pricing information or pre-order option yet. Far Cry 6 sold for $59.99 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla sold for $59.99, and right now, apart from any premium bundles that may be offered, we are not expecting anything different for Frontiers of Pandora.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Trailer

In 2021 the game got a first-look trailer that remains the most comprehensive look we have had so far. Unsurprisingly, the cinematics highlight Pandora's lush growth and alien wildlife. We see plenty of creatures, some villain battles and a bit of aerial combat.

Unfortunately, we do not see any gameplay, so there are still many unanswered questions. Ubisoft calls the game a first-person action-adventure game supporting an immersive open-world experience. If the trailer reminded you of Horizon Forbidden West or one of the Far Cry games, you are not alone, but we do not know anything beyond that.
