Black Ops 6 Warzone: Best Weapons to Level Up

Warzone is integrating with Black Ops 6 on November 14, bringing all its new weapons into the battle royale. BO6 has some really solid options, which means a new meta. Your level will reset when the new season arrives, but your weapon progression will carry over. So even though you'll have to unlock these weapons again, focusing on them in multiplayer now means you'll be ready to run meta attachments right away.

What Are the Best Black Ops 6 Warzone Weapons?

C9

The C9 might be the first SMG you unlock in Black Ops 6, but don't let that fool you—it's one of the best weapons in the game. Some other SMGs kill faster up close, but the C9's all-around versatility is what sets it apart.

It kills fast, is easy to use, has great mobility, and good sights. Pair it with one of the long-range Assault Rifles or Light Machine Guns on this list and you get an incredibly dominant loadout.

PP-919

The PP-919 falls short in some situations due to its slower time-to-kill, but it more than makes up for it with a large magazine capacity and low recoil. Since Warzone players have 300 health, you'll need plenty of bullets to take down multiple enemies, and this SMG delivers exactly that.

It comes with a 64-Round Magazine by default, so you can dedicate your attachments to improving mobility, recoil control, and damage instead.

XM4

If you want something ready to go for your low-level loadouts, the XM4 is a great choice.

With low recoil, a reasonable time-to-kill, and solid mobility, you won't feel underpowered with this classic Assault Rifle in hand. There are better options at higher levels, but it's hard to go wrong with this fan favorite.

Model L

You can think of the Model L as a better version of the XM4. The time-to-kill is the same, but the Model L is easier to control and has a slightly higher default bullet velocity, which matters a lot for Warzone's long-range fights.

I'd recommend using the XM4 until you unlock the Model L, then switching over to it while keeping the same general look and playstyle.

AK-74

The AK-74 behaves as you'd expect—high damage, balanced out by slightly more demanding recoil. Fortunately, in BO6 the recoil isn't too hard to manage, and it still has a fast time-to-kill.

With attachments for recoil control, it can fully dominate the mid-to-long-range meta, but given its close-range time-to-kill, it wouldn't be surprising to see players build a mobile AK loadout as sniper support instead.

AS VAL

During the Verdansk era, the AS VAL was an extremely popular sniper-support weapon thanks to its incredible fire rate and fast time-to-kill. It's back in Black Ops 6 and ready to reclaim that crown.

It has a better close-range time-to-kill than some SMGs, though it doesn't share the same damage drop-off, which lets you use it successfully in a lot of situations. Verdansk is returning in spring 2025, so this fan-favorite weapon's comeback is perfectly timed.

XMG

Thanks to their huge magazine capacities, LMGs make excellent long-range weapons for Warzone—as long as their damage, bullet velocity, and recoil control hold up. Fortunately, the XMG delivers on all of those fronts.

Its low mobility keeps it out of the top tier in multiplayer, but Warzone's wide-open spaces will let this fast-killing LMG shine, and it wouldn't be surprising to see it become a meta favorite.

PU-21

It's tough to choose between the PU-21 and the XMG, since both LMGs kill faster than the meta ARs, but they're most effective at different ranges. The PU-21 kills faster up to 45 meters, while the XMG kills much faster up to 61 meters. Beyond that range, the PU-21 takes over again.

I'd recommend trying both LMGs to see which one you like better. The XM4 offers a bigger magazine and slightly easier control by default, but the PU-21's firepower could work in your favor depending on your playstyle.

LR 7.62

Sniper rifles have always been dominant choices in Warzone, and the LR 7.62 stands out as the best sniper rifle in Black Ops 6.

With high damage and the best bullet velocity among snipers, there's no need to look at another option when sniping in Warzone with this weapon.

Tsarkov 7.62

Long-time Warzone players will remember the DMR meta, and if we see something similar again, my pick will be the Tsarkov 7.62. I can't recommend it ahead of the other weapons on this list, but if a single-shot weapon becomes meta, this Marksman Rifle will be a solid option.

Its fire rate is slower than the Swat 5.56's, but it hits hard. Capable of one-shot headshots up to 35 meters, headshots with this rifle will bring TTK way down. It also keeps some of the best TTK times even on body shots.

Ways to Quickly Level Up Weapons in BO6

The easiest way to quickly level up your weapons in Black Ops 6 is to equip the Dispatcher and Bankroll Perks for bonus XP and play objective-based modes like Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.
