Because the number of buildings and walls we have changes at every Town Hall level in Clash of Clans, we need to redesign our bases in the way that best suits the buildings and walls we have.

Clash of Clans Town Hall 9 base layout overviewThe factors we need to pay attention to when shaping our bases are loot protection and trophy protection. Some bases are aimed more at protecting loot and others at protecting trophies. Base layouts that try to protect both trophies and loot at the same time as well as possible are called hybrid.

In this article, you can find an example for every layout and build your own base according to them.

Note: When Clash of Clans players reach Town Hall level 9, they get a new defensive building. This building is called the X-Bow, and they can build two of them.

What Is the X-Bow?

The X-Bow fires arrows in succession at the target it locks onto. It is effective against both ground and air units. If you set it to attack only ground units, you benefit more from its range. But if you set it to attack both air and ground troops, you give up some of its range. Still, use it in both air and ground mode.

Our loot is kept in the gold, elixir and dark elixir storages. Layouts in which these buildings are in the middle of our base and surrounded by defensive buildings are the ones that will benefit us most in protecting our loot. The image we have given is very suitable for this.

In hybrid base layouts, the goal is to defend both trophies and loot as much as possible. In this type of layout, the enemy generally takes 1 star and trophies from us. But this way we keep a large portion of the loot. The example base layout below can also be considered a hybrid layout.

The biggest advantage observed in the example base is that the Town Hall and the loot storages are protected by all the mortars and, in stages, by walls. This will give us a strong defense against ground units. The biggest handicap seen in the base is that the buildings are stuck together, which makes our base weak against Hog Rider attacks. Because the Hog Rider is trained with dark elixir, players very rarely use this troop in loot attacks. For this reason, the example base can be considered for farming.

Clash of Clans Town Hall 9 Base Layout Trophy Protection 2021

In Clash of Clans, players are placed in certain leagues according to their war skills. You earn trophies through the destruction percentages and stars you get in your attacks on enemy bases. You also earn trophies when your opponent cannot get a star from you in attacks made against you (that is, when the destruction percentage stays below 50% and your Town Hall is not destroyed). To earn trophies, you need good attacks and a strong defense. As you earn trophies, you move up to higher leagues, and as you move up to higher leagues, you also increase the loot bonus you get.

In the example base, the Town Hall is right in the center of the base and is surrounded by walls in stages. In addition, the Clan Castle and all the defensive buildings defend the Town Hall. Having the air defenses close to the center of the base will play an extremely effective role in preventing our opponent from taking 3 stars from us. The Wizard Towers, which deal area damage, will also damage enemy troops en masse while they are busy destroying other buildings. Having high-HP storages in the relatively outer part of the base will cause enemy units to lose time.

Clash of Clans Town Hall 9 Base Layout Hybrid

By nature, hybrid bases aim to protect both our trophy count and our loot.

It is not possible to skip any enemy attack with zero damage. We will have to give up a little of our trophies or our loot. The most important thing here is to give our opponent the least loot and the fewest trophies.

Our example base in the image is designed in the best way against every possible attack. Because of the position of the gold and elixir storages, we can lose about a quarter of the maximum loot, and in many battles we can win trophies by keeping the destruction percentage below 50%.

The Town Hall is right in the middle of the area. Because of its position, the Clan Castle dominates a very large part of the area. The X-Bows facing diagonally will go on the offensive from the moment an enemy attack begins, because of their positions. Air defenses placed with mastery will be able to fire many shots at enemy troops that are busy destroying buildings outside the walls. If the air sweepers are positioned this way, they will push all enemy air units into the air defenses. The Archer Towers are in the right position with their long range. The Wizard Towers will deal area damage for longer because they are behind high-HP buildings. The traps are in the right places. The four giant bombs placed close together around them are deadly effective against Hog Rider attacks. The utility buildings are used entirely to enlarge the base, which will cause the opponent's attack to start from farther away.

Our example base is tailor-made for players who play Clash of Clans and have Town Hall level 9.

As Gamer Papers, we strongly recommend using our example base.

Clash of Clans Town Hall 9 Base Layout War

Because clan war is not a loot war, the only thing that matters is ensuring the base is destroyed as little as possible. In the example layout, the Town Hall and Clan Castle are in the center of the base in a fully protected position. High-HP gold and elixir storages are positioned in the outer part of the base to delay enemies. The mortars are right in the center of the base and protect the Town Hall, which lets us deal long-lasting area damage against ground units. The giant bombs are placed side by side in pairs, and this position of the bombs is enough to destroy Hog Rider troops. If our opponent casts the Heal spell even 1 second late, they will have to watch all their Hog Riders be destroyed.

The easiest way to destroy the example base is to attack with Dragons. After some of the air defenses are destroyed with a Lightning spell, the Dragons will play a much more active role. Our advice: position the air sweepers a bit farther from the air defenses, so your opponent cannot damage both the air defenses and the air sweepers with the same Lightning spell.
