Since our goal in clan wars is fixed, we start by placing our Town Hall at the center of our village to form the backbone of the defense at this point. By placing our loot storages diagonally around our Town Hall, we also prevent the enemy from reaching our loot to some extent. By placing mortars around our Town Hall, we can spot and hit possible ground attacks in advance. We can wipe out our opponent with mortar shells. To fend off possible air attacks as well, we deploy the air defense unit near our Town Hall. Since we lay our village out in a hexagon shape, we place a wizard tower and a cannon at every other corner. We place our archer towers at the remaining corners. Since our goal in farming layouts is to protect our loot, we can shield our loot from the opponent by placing our loot storages at the center of the village. By placing 2 of our mortars and the air defense unit around our loot storages, we largely fend off both air and ground attacks. Since we don't need to defend our Town Hall, we can place it somewhere outside the village. To protect our gold and elixir mines, we can also tuck them as far inside as possible and surround them with cannons, archer towers, and wizard towers. This part can be entirely up to you. In hybrid base layouts, we need to put in the effort both to keep our loot from being taken and to keep our Town Hall defensible. To do this, we aim to secure our main building by placing our Town Hall right at the center. By placing our defensive units all around our Town Hall, we defend both our Town Hall and the loot storages around it as much as possible. We place our archer towers and cannons at the corners to fend off ground and air attacks coming from outside. We also deploy our air sweeper at a point that can fend off possible air attacks, though changing its location is up to you. With good analysis, you can place it at the exact opposite point from whichever direction air attacks tend to come from.
