How do you pick a Clash of Clans TH11 base layout?
Start with what you want from the village. Our older articles split bases by three goals:
- War: loot does not matter. The only goal is to lose as little of the base as possible and give up few stars, so the Town Hall sits in the center.
- Farming: in regular attacks the opponent is after your loot. Storages move to the center and the Town Hall can sit outside.
- Standard or hybrid: tries to protect both trophies and loot. Our older article notes that the attacker often takes 1 star and some trophies, but you keep most of your loot.
A reminder on trophies: if the attacker stays under 50% destruction and fails to take down the Town Hall, they get no star and you win trophies on defense.
Why do you need a new base at every level? As our older articles point out, the number of buildings and walls you have changes at every Town Hall level. A base made for the level below either leaves no room for your new buildings or wastes them, so when you reach Town Hall 11 it is best to rearrange the village around the buildings of this level.
How is the TH11 war base set up?
The Town Hall is right in the middle, surrounded by traps, Bombs and Giant Bombs. Inferno Towers sit inside the wall around the Town Hall, and single or multi mode is your call. Hidden Teslas, Air Defenses and X-Bows wait close to the Town Hall. Cannons and Archer Towers hold the outer ring with Wizard Towers backing them up. Storages and collectors stay outside in this base.
How does the TH11 farming base work?
The Dark Elixir Storage is at the heart of the base, ringed by Air Defenses, with the Eagle Artillery close by. Gold Storages stay near the Dark Elixir, while Elixir Storages are kept away from the gold. Our older article says this split forces a heavy attack to divide in two. Inferno Towers guard the Town Hall, which sits on the outer ring with Air Sweepers and Bomb Towers beside it.
How is the TH11 standard base set up?
The Town Hall is in the center with the Eagle Artillery nearby. Traps and storages sit around the Town Hall. Inferno Towers are placed to cover both the Town Hall and the storages, with the X-Bow close to both. Archer Towers and Cannons on the outer ring take the first hits.
How do you build the base from the picture?
Our earlier Town Hall 11 articles did not include in-game copy links, so you need to rebuild the base by hand from the picture:
- Pick the base that matches your goal.
- Move the Town Hall and storages to their spots in the picture first.
- Place the defenses around them in the same order as the picture.
- Draw the wall rings as shown and leave traps for last.
- If you have more buildings than the picture shows, put the extras on the outer ring.
