What the layouts on this page have in common is that the Builder Hall stays inside. Troops coming from outside hit the walls and the outer defenses first, and anything that reaches the core runs into the strongest defenses and the traps. Whichever model you pick, use the picture as a base and make small changes to fit the buildings you have.

Your building and wall counts change at every Builder Hall level, so a base from the level below may leave no room for the new pieces. When you reach Builder Hall 5, it is best to rearrange the base around this level's buildings, and the pictures below were made for exactly this level.

How is Layout 2 set up?

Our older article calls this the outer perimeter layout. The Builder Hall and key defenses are in the center, but the real defensive line is on the outside. Archer Towers and mines line the outer walls, making it hard for troops to reach the core.

What other layout ideas are there?

Our older article described these layouts in text only, with no pictures or links:

• Central defense: The Builder Hall sits in the center with strong pieces such as the Crusher, Giant Cannon and Multi Mortar close to it.
• Mixed attack and defense: Archer Towers and walls slow enemies on the outer lines, while the Multi Mortar and Crusher wait in the center.
• Hidden defense: Hidden Teslas and mines sit where enemies are likely to walk and trigger once troops are inside.

What if the links do not open in the game?

We took the links unchanged from our older article. As of October 30, 2026, Supercell's link page was loading, but we could not confirm in the game that the layouts still import. If a link does not open or shows an error, the saved layout may no longer be valid. In that case, rebuild it by hand from the picture: place the Builder Hall first, then the defenses, and leave walls and traps for last.

What should you keep in mind with a Builder Hall 5 base?

• Put traps in open spaces, especially at the entrances. Our older article says this makes life easier for close-range defenses such as the Crusher.
• Hide surprise defenses such as the Hidden Tesla and mines where enemies are most likely to walk.
