Dying Light 2 Weapons: Types, Locations, Repair
In Dying Light 2, weapons carry randomized stats and durability that drains with use, but players can find blunt, bladed, ranged, and opportunity weapons across Villedor and repair favorites with…
- Dying Light 2 weapons fall into four types — Blunt, Bladed, Ranged, and Opportunity — with quest-reward weapons keeping fixed stats while all others are randomized in rarity, damage, and level.
- New weapons in Villedor turn up in containers, GRE military caravans, shops, story-quest rewards, and on corpses, with Military Convoy sites dropping loot by day and Dark Zones at night.
- Weapon mods raise durability only a few times each; once mod slots are full a weapon can no longer be repaired, so even reward weapons like the PK Cannon eventually break for good.
Dying Light 2 is a game where weapons are unquestionably the thing you'll need most. During your adventures across Villedor, you'll come across countless weapons you can use to fight the undead hordes. Like everything Aiden picks up with randomized stats, these weapons vary in rarity, damage output, and level. In general, they get stronger as your level rises, growing alongside you and the infected roaming the streets. Weapons with fixed stats are handed to you after completing certain quests. You can check which weapon you'll get upon completion from the Journal tab, where rewards appear beneath a quest's story summary. If you want to look at a reward weapon's stats, click the quest's journal entry, then hover the cursor over the weapon.

Where Can You Find Weapons?
You don't have to look far to get your hands on new weapons. Weapons can be found in containers, GRE military caravans, shops, as story quest rewards, and on corpses. Certain story or side quest scenarios will also scatter weapons across the environment. Like their stats, the type of weapon you find at all these locations is random, so if you sell, drop, or break a weapon, you can't return to the same spot to re-equip it. If you urgently need new weapons — and don't want to visit a vendor to stock up — it's best to follow certain side activities. During the day, look for Military Convoy locations around the city streets. You can find plenty of loot to scavenge from the wrecked military vehicles. If you're scouring rooftops at night, look for Dark Zones. In these zombie-infested buildings, you can find some great weapons as well as some Inhibitors to upgrade your skills.
How Do You Repair Weapons?
One thing you'll quickly realize during your time in Villedor is that weapons won't last forever. The more you use a weapon, the faster its durability drains, eventually causing the weapon to break. However, far from being a permanent fix, you can repair your favorite weapons. Adding weapon mods will boost a weapon's durability, but you'll only be able to upgrade its stats a few times. Once your mod slots are full, there's no other way to repair your weapon, meaning you'll have to let it break.
What Are the Weapon Types in Dying Light 2?
Below, you'll find a list of every weapon found in Dying Light 2. As mentioned earlier, every weapon not obtained as a quest reward has randomized stats, but the list below notes whether each one can be obtained as a reward.
