FIFA 23 Career Mode's Best-Potential Left-Backs

The Best Young Left-Backs Who Will Shine in FIFA 22 Career Mode!

These players will be either an LB or an LWB, and we've picked out ones who are all 23 or younger at the start of FIFA 22 Career Mode and can carry you for roughly a decade.

We based their ratings on the latest FIFA 21 update (August 6, 2021), and we'll update this page once FIFA 22 ratings are available.

(Career Mode) Angelino (OVR 83 - POT 86)

Age: 23

Position(s): LWB, LM

Value: £41 million (Release clause: £74 million)

Wage: £52,000 per week

After changing clubs a few times in his short career, Angelino looks right at home at RB Leipzig.

If you manage to lure him in, you get a versatile player who can succeed in multiple positions, helping you add depth on the left wing and in midfield.

(Career Mode) Sergio Reguilon (OVR 82 - POT 87)

Age: 23

Position(s): LB

Value: £39 million (Release clause: £76 million)

Wage: £77,000 per week

He's already put in solid performances for Tottenham, and if you're willing to meet that hefty release clause, Reguilon can do the same for your team.

He can also be deployed as an LWB thanks to attacking stats that match his defensive ones nicely.

(Career Mode) Theo Hernandez (OVR 82 - POT 86)

Age: 22

Position(s): LB

Value: £37 million (Release clause: £66 million)

Wage: £38,000 per week

If you're after a fast LB, Theo is your man. With 90 Acceleration and 93 Sprint Speed combined with 89 Stamina, you'll have someone who can constantly overlap and do it at real pace.

Hernandez has shown he stands out from other full-backs, scoring 13 league goals over his last two seasons with AC Milan.

(Career Mode) Ben Chilwell (OVR 82 - POT 86)

Age: 23

Position(s): LWB, LB

Value: £37 million (Release clause: £72 million)

Wage: £77,000 per week

Chilwell took a big step forward in his career by moving to Chelsea to reach the next level — can you convince him this dream can grow even bigger by joining your team?

A hefty release clause and a long-term contract might put you off, but if you think he'd fit your squad, he's always worth a try.

(Career Mode) Renan Lodi (OVR 81 - POT 86)

Age: 22

Position(s): LB

Value: £33 million (Release clause: £71 million)

Wage: £44,000 per week

Add a bit of Brazilian flair to your side by signing this guy from Atletico Madrid.

He's not just a solid defender — his skill on the ball and agility will have you dribbling past and beating opponents with ease.

(Career Mode) Marc Cucurella (OVR 81 - POT 87)

Age: 21

Position(s): LB, LM

Value: £37 million (Release clause: £86 million)

Wage: £25,000 per week

Familiar to FUT players, Cucurella's main position in FIFA 22 could be LB or LM.

Everyone has been impressed by his performances in LaLiga — he's gotten plenty of minutes, proven himself, and looks ready for a step up in his career.

(Career Mode) Alphonso Davies (OVR 81 - POT 89)

Age: 19

Position(s): LB, LM, RM

Value: £48 million (Release clause: £88 million)

Wage: £36,000 per week

Let's not beat around the bush, here's your LB pick. Pay whatever it takes and add this guy to your team!

He's only 19 and already performing for one of the biggest clubs in football. With insane pace and dribbling, there's a 100 million-to-zero chance that, over the many years he could spend at your club, his other attributes will catch up to his agility and he'll become a truly complete player in every sense.

(Career Mode) Oleksandr Zinchenko (OVR 80 - POT 85)

Age: 23

Position(s): LB

Value: £27 million (Release clause: £51 million)

Wage: £86,000 per week

He feels like he's been around for years, but Zinchenko is only 23!

People unfamiliar with how he got his start in football might be surprised, but he actually began as an attacking midfielder before Guardiola convinced him to become an LB, and he's since turned into a versatile defender.

(Career Mode) Kieran Tierney (OVR 80 - POT 86)

Age: 23

Position(s): LB, CB, LWB

Value: £28 million (Release clause: £59 million)

Wage: £62,000 per week

Even though he's still young, Tierney has had some impressive spells on the pitch, carrying Arsenal through certain matches with his performances.

Excellent physicality and solid stats wherever you need them mean this guy should definitely be on your radar.

(Career Mode) Bukayo Saka (OVR 79 - POT 88)

Age: 18

Position(s): LB, LM, RM

Value: £33 million (Release clause: £70 million)

Wage: £26,000 per week

Another player who could see a position change, you can also play Saka at LB if you'd like.

His defensive stats aren't the best, but if you want a genuinely attack-minded defender, his pace, agility, and dribbling have you covered. Still, know that his best position is out wide on the right, so shift him back to his natural spot once you land another LB you can push forward.
