God of War Ragnarok: All Yggdrasil Jewel Locations

God of War Ragnarok generally gives you more equipment and gear than you'll want to bother with, but the Yggdrasil Charm is actually an important armor piece that offers a number of passive buffs. The charm has nine slots that can be fitted with stat-boosting enchantments, but only two of those slots are unlocked when you first get it. You'll need to find seven jewels to unlock the rest of the slots. Where are the seven Yggdrasil Jewels in God of War Ragnarok? Where are their locations? Let's take a look together!

God of War Ragnarok: All Yggdrasil Jewel Locations

Midgard and Svartalfheim - Story Missions

You'll pick up two Yggdrasil Jewels through regular story progress, one in Midgard and one in Svartalfheim. Each one drops from a combat encounter we won't spoil here. If you've completed the main quests The Word of Fate and Forging Destiny, you should already have both. If you forgot to grab the jewels, make sure to check the chest next to Brok and Sindri's shops, since it collects any items you missed or that fell out of reach.

Vanaheim - Naotun's Garden

The first hidden Yggdrasil Jewel you'll be able to reach is in Vanaheim. You'll first visit this realm during a main story quest, but the jewel can only be found after that quest is completed. Sail to Naotun's Garden, just east of the river delta Mystic Gateway.

Use your new arrow types to burn away the red vines covering the entrance to the ruins in Naotun's Garden. Once the vines are gone, go inside to find a golden chest containing the jewel.

Alfheim - Forbidden Sands

Once you gain the ability to enter the second, northern part of the elf desert, you'll be able to grab this Yggdrasil Jewel. You can only reach this location after your first visit to Vanaheim. Make sure to talk to the two elves at the Vanaheim camp to start a quest related to the Elven Sanctum in Alfheim.

This jewel is inside the Elven Sanctum, just east of the Burrows. It's in a golden chest on the second floor of the small sanctuary. Be ready for a fight after grabbing the jewel, since a powerful Light Elf will attack you on your way out.

Midgard - The Rowers

This Yggdrasil Jewel can be picked up either before or after the one in Alfheim, as long as you've completed the first story quest in Vanaheim. Head to the northern part of Lake of Nine, next to the rower statues. The jewel is in another golden chest found underground.

Open the way forward by pulling the giant chain standing right in front of the rower statues, revealing a hidden staircase that runs beneath the statues. The chest is right at the bottom of the stairs, directly across from the nearest Mystic Gateway.

Svartalfheim - Alberich Island

You'll need the Draupnir Spear to reach the chest containing this Yggdrasil Jewel. Luckily, you'll already be in Svartalfheim once you get the spear. Instead of heading straight to your next main story quest, enter the Bay of Bounty and head north to Alberich Island.

Use the Draupnir Spear to reach the small island just north of Lyngbakr Island, then use the spear and your arrow types to solve the waterwheel puzzle. The golden chest sits on a ledge above the waterwheel.

Vanaheim - The Jungle

You can only find this jewel after your second required trip to Vanaheim. The story will bring you back here for the Creatures of Prophecy main quest. Completing that quest opens a new path heading north from the main camp. Once Creatures of Prophecy is finished, follow Helka in the new Scent of Survival side quest to reach the Jungle.

The chest is near the Mystic Gateway at the jungle entrance and is only accessible once you've lowered the dam in the area. After that, you'll be able to sail to the marked point on the map below. There will be a hole in the ground in the middle of a large clearing. Drop down to find the final Yggdrasil Jewel in another golden chest.

How Do You Use the Yggdrasil Jewels?

Once you have a Yggdrasil Jewel, head to one of Brok and Sindri's shops to request an upgrade. Go to the Armor tab to find the Yggdrasil Charm, then use the jewels to unlock more enchantment slots. The game will let you know when a charm upgrade is available, the same way your companions usually flag puzzles for you to solve.
