iPhone 15 Release Date and Price

Even though Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro lines launched not too long ago, there are already plenty of rumors floating around about the next model, the iPhone 15. Of course, keep in mind that everything we know so far is just speculation from rumors and other media reports — nothing is confirmed yet, and probably won't be until we get closer to the typical new iPhone season in September. When is the iPhone 15's release date? How much will it cost? What are its features? Let's take a look!

What Are the iPhone 15 Models?

Although Apple launched the iPhone mini with the iPhone 12 series and kept it for the iPhone 13 series, the mini was discontinued after the iPhone 14 came out. With the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro staying at 6.1 inches, it was replaced by the larger iPhone 14 Plus, which moved from the 5.4-inch screen up to a massive 6.7-inch screen (the same as the iPhone 14 Pro Max).

Apple is expected to continue this with the iPhone 15 series, which will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and Pro Max. Again, the standard iPhone 15 and Pro should have a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 15 Plus and Pro Max should have a 6.7-inch screen.

However, the Pro Max's name might be different. Similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, there are rumors floating around that "Pro Max" could be replaced with the "Ultra" moniker.

When Is the Release Date?

There's no release date for now. But as long as Apple follows its usual iPhone launch schedule, we should expect the iPhone 15 and Pro to be announced in September 2023.

How Much Will It Cost?

We can expect the prices to be similar to what we currently have with the iPhone 14 series, which starts at $799 for the iPhone 14, $899 for the iPhone 14 Plus, $999 for the iPhone 14 Pro, and $1,099 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

However, the Pro Max's name might be different. Although we're hopeful the prices will stay the same, a recent leak claims the iPhone 15 Ultra (the new name Apple is reportedly using for its Pro Max models) will cost $200 more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. That would be a fairly harsh change, amounting to almost a 20% increase, so if Apple really is planning to raise the cost, the phone will really need to justify its price with some exciting new features.

It's worth noting that earlier this year there were some pretty convincing-sounding rumors that the Pro would get a $100 price increase, and that ultimately turned out to be false. All that is to say it's certainly possible the iPhone 15 could see an increase, but take this rumor with a bit of skepticism.
