Clash Royale December 2022 Update: Quality of Life Changes

Emotes

Players can now select favorite emotes that will be placed at the front of the expanded emote picker during battles and Clan Chat. An emote can be added to the Wish List by tapping the Favorites option. You'll get a notification when emotes appear in the shop.

Updated Leaderboard

Clan Leaderboard

Clan and Friends leaderboards can now sort players by the following criteria:

• Ranked Rating
• Trophies
• League (Tiebreaker)

Players who haven't reached Ultimate Champion League yet will still be ranked by Trophies. This will instead be on the screens of players who have a Ranked Rating.

Top Royales Leaderboard

Players

Players are now shown on the Path of Legends leaderboard.

Clans

Clan Trophies are calculated based on the trophies of clan members. Developers are adding a "Clan Legend Score" that uses clan members' Ranked ratings to determine a clan's rating. There's a transition period for both of these scores.

Both scores use the current calculation:

• 50% of the top 10 players
• 25% of the next highest 10
• 12% of the next highest 10
• 10% of the next highest 10
• 3% of the bottom 10 players

Clash Royale December 2022 Update: New Items

New Magic Item: Card Boost Potion

Clash Royale's Card Boost Potion will temporarily raise one of your Card Levels to match your Tower Level.

• Boosted cards are highlighted in the Card Collection
• Tapping a Boosted card shows the time remaining on the Boost
• Card Boosts apply in all game modes that use your own Card Collection.
• Boost Duration: 1 hour
• Max Inventory limit: 8
• If the inventory reaches the maximum, items grant 500 Gold.

Players can get a Card Boost Potion from the following places:

• Daily quests
• Pass Royale
• Path of Legends
• Challenges
• Shop

Along with the new Magic Item, players are also getting some visual changes to Seasonal Card Boosts in the Card Collection.

Clan Gifts

Players can spread Clashmas cheer by buying gifts for Clan friends from the shop.

Minions and Minion Horde (Buffed)

Minions have been struggling lately, so more damage has been added to their arms.

• Damage: +15%
• The deployment radius for Minion Horde was increased based on the gap between Minions.

Mighty Miner (Buffed)

With the arrival of Monk, Mighty Miner usage has subjectively dropped. This buff will help him reach the Crown Towers in more situations.

• Movement Speed: Medium > Fast

Phoenix (Nerfed)

This nerf gives more counterplay against Phoenix, seen clearly now that Lightning can destroy Phoenix. This reduces the card's overall power.

• Hitpoints: -13%

Monk (Nerfed)

Raising the Elixir cost of Monk, the strongest champion in the game, will make it a much more Elixir-heavy card.

• Elixir cost: 4 > 5

Goblin Hut (Rework)

Goblin Hut is getting a bit of a rework in this December 2022 Update.

• Spear Goblins spawned per wave: 1 > 3 (0.5 seconds between each spawn)
• Lifetime: 31s > 29s
• Spawn Frequency: 4s > 10s
• Total Spear Goblins: 11 > 12

Rage (Rework)

• Adds Spell Damage that scales with Card Level.
• Smaller radius.
• Now has a fixed duration that doesn't scale with Card Level.
