Clash Royale new season: King vs. King brings Giant Evo

The Clash Royale new season, King vs. King, is live. It is built around competition, with new Giant and Mirror Evolutions, Daily Puzzles, a Royal Market and the CRL World Finals from November 6 to 8.

Supercell's official season notes promise new tournament features and challenges. A mysterious new competitive mode is also on the way and will be revealed at the World Finals.

What evolutions arrive in the Clash Royale new season?

The season adds two evolutions, Giant and Mirror. Each one changes how you build and play your decks.

Giant Evolution

The evolved Giant still targets buildings and works well at the front of a push. Once he takes enough damage, though, he becomes enraged. He then leaves a trail of Rage that boosts every troop following him, and each of his attacks makes that trail bigger. The longer he survives, the stronger your push gets. You can unlock him in Pass Royale or with Wild Shards.

Mirror Evolution

The evolved Mirror copies the last card you played, in its evolved form and one level higher. The copied card does not need to be in your Evo slot or even in your collection. If an Evolution exists for it, the Mirror will create it. If the card has no Evolution, you get the normal Mirror effect: the same card, one level higher. The Mirror Evolution reaches the Shop in week two, and Wild Shards work too.

King vs. King season schedule

Here are the key dates for the season.

Win Condition Mastery and Royal Market

From week two, a different set of win conditions gets a boost each week. Giant and Mirror stay boosted for the whole season. The weekly rotation looks like this:

• Week 2: Battle Ram, Hog Rider, Mortar, Minion Giant, Goblin Barrel
• Week 3: Balloon, Royal Hogs, Three Musketeers, Royal Giant, Ram Rider, Wall Breakers
• Week 4: Goblin Giant, Skeleton Barrel, Golem, Electro Giant, Lava Hound, Elixir Golem
• Week 5: X-Bow, Miner, Graveyard, Goblin Drill

The Royal Market is open from November 9 to December 7. You can spend Crown Tokens, a limited-time currency earned through events and the Shop, on items and cosmetics. The most coveted rewards unlock after you spend 3,000 Crown Tokens.

How do the Daily Puzzles work?

A new puzzle appears every day from November 2 to 8. Your deck has between one and four cards, and each card can only be played once. The scenario stays the same on every attempt. Supercell says the puzzles are about skill and bragging rights rather than rewards. A second set will arrive later in the season.

The season also brings Deck Wizard, which replaces the Magic Wand. It builds a deck from scratch or around your favorite cards using your collection. It rolls out in week two as a test, so some players may get it later.

Bug fixes are included as well. For example, Mega Knight is no longer immune to the Evolved Hunter's net while jumping, and Hero Ice Wizard now refunds Elixir if he dies before his projectile lands.
