What time does Charting the Unknown release?

In its Steam announcement, Pearl Abyss confirmed the expansion launches simultaneously everywhere. That means Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Epic Games Store. The regional times below, listed by Destructoid, are based on that announcement.

Region Launch time
Pacific (PT) Oct 29, 3pm
Central (CT) Oct 29, 5pm
Eastern (ET) Oct 29, 6pm
UTC Oct 29, 10pm
Central Europe (CET) Oct 29, 11pm

Pearl Abyss also flagged something important. A patch for the base game drops at the same time as the DLC. You'll need to download and install it before launching the game.

What's in the Crimson Desert DLC?

The Steam store page sums up the expansion in four parts. First up are new enemies. Tougher foes are waiting on both land and sea, and you'll need to adapt your tactics to beat them.

Second is the ocean. You'll finally be able to go beyond Pywel's shores. Take command of a ship, sail to new islands off the coast, then dive beneath the waves to find sunken ruins and underwater treasure.

Third are the life systems. You can rent and run a range of facilities to earn money. An upgraded Housing mode lets you build a home that's really yours. You can also talk with the people of Pywel to build deeper bonds.

Fourth is story. The expansion teases an ominous presence in the desert, a dangerous political conflict, a journey beyond time and an ancient secret under the sea. Kliff, Oongka and Damiane each get their own paths.

Price and pre-orders

Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown costs $24.99 on Steam. The base game is $69.99 and launched on March 19, 2026. According to Destructoid, pre-orders include the Charter's Light Diving Set at no extra cost.

Steam lists the DLC for Windows and Mac. Pre-orders stay open on every platform until launch. It's the biggest content drop since the base game arrived.

A Golden Joystick nomination

Pearl Abyss shared other news this week too. Crimson Desert is nominated for Ultimate Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards 2026. Voting closes October 31 at 12am UTC.

Why does it matter for players?

If you've finished the main game, Charting the Unknown gives you a fresh reason to return. Sea and underwater exploration effectively makes the map bigger. Housing and businesses add more to do between fights.
