The Fnatic Jarvan IV skin is coming to League of Legends as a free tribute. Riot is also preparing a Young Legend Cyanide title in honor of 2011 World Champion Lauri "Cyanide" Happonen. Both unlock after three games as Jarvan IV.

How do you get the Fnatic Jarvan IV skin?

The details come from files on the PBE, League's public test server. According to Strafe, the new title showed up there on Tuesday, October 27. Based on what's been shared so far, the requirement is simple.

Play three games as Jarvan IV and you'll unlock both rewards. The skin itself isn't new. It's part of the collection made to celebrate Fnatic's win at the very first World Championship. The title, though, is brand new and made in Cyanide's name.

Riot hasn't given a live server date. White Market and Taiwan's NOWnews make the same point. The final mission and any extra conditions will only be clear once Riot makes it official. So if you go looking for it in the client today, you won't find it yet.

Who was Cyanide?

Lauri "Cyanide" Happonen was a Finnish jungler. In 2011 he won the first League of Legends World Championship with Fnatic in Sweden. He was just 16. That record still stands, as nobody younger has lifted the Summoner's Cup.

According to NOWnews, Fnatic beat French side against All authority (aAa) in that final. Cyanide stayed with Fnatic for years afterward. The same report says the team won three European league titles across 2013 and 2014 and reached the semifinals at Worlds 2013.

Finnish outlet Ilta-Sanomat first reported that Cyanide died on July 31, 2026, at age 31. GosuGamers says the paper confirmed it with Finland's Digital and Population Data Services Agency. No cause of death has been disclosed. The news only became public on October 26.

Tributes from Fnatic and LoL Esports

Fnatic posted a statement on X. The club noted that during his four years there, Cyanide became the youngest player ever to win Worlds. It said he leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Riot's official LoL Esports account followed a few hours later, calling him "Forever a legend." NOWnews reports that Riot also paid tribute during the Worlds broadcast. Former teammate YellOwStaR wrote that he'd seen Cyanide at a showmatch in July, still full of plans for the future.

Riot did the same for Shushei

This isn't the first time. Maciej "Shushei" Ratuszniak, the mid laner on that 2011 roster, died of cancer in April 2025 at 36. Riot handed out a free Shushei Forever title back then. Players who played three games as Gragas also unlocked the Fnatic Gragas skin.

The Cyanide tribute follows the same format. Both members of the 2011 championship roster who have passed away will now be remembered inside the game. It's becoming a small tradition of bringing esports history into the client.

What does this mean for players?

The reward appears to be planned for every server. None of the sources mention regional limits. Still, it's worth waiting for Riot's announcement before treating that as certain. Once the mission goes live, three games on Jarvan IV should be all it takes.
