Is League of Legends Removing the Chemtech Drake?

Who doesn't hate the Chemtech Drake? Pretty much everyone who's touched League of Legends since preseason has taken over the Rift. Sure, the Hextech Dragon is fun and its doors are hilarious, but its sister, the Chemtech Dragon, hasn't gotten much love from the community.

Riot has reached a point where it might be willing to take drastic measures regarding the Chemtech Drake. When might we finally see major changes take a crack at it? Details in our article.

Is the LoL Chemtech Drake Getting Removed?

This information about the Chemtech dragon comes from Reddit, where most of the Chemtech dragon's enemies have gathered. There, in one thread, developers GreaterBelugaWhale and Bryan "Axes" Salvatore hinted at the removal of the Chemtech Drake.

"We're running a survey. It'll take us a bit to get results. Reddit and English-speaking social media's reaction is clear, but that doesn't mean players have generally disliked a feature in the past."

Of course, Riot isn't basing this data solely on the English-speaking community or Reddit, but the survey will cover a large portion of the player base to find out whether the Chemtech Drake really causes the kind of problems it's supposed to have caused for it to be removed.

How Will Riot Fix LoL's Chemtech Drake?

Right now, Riot is monitoring the dragon's passion, terrain, and soul. In the upcoming League of Legends Patch 12.02, the soul and terrain are getting nerfed, and Rengar, one of the champions who benefits most from it, is getting an adjustment to try to survive on Chemtech terrain.

So Riot knows the Chemtech Drake is a bit too strong, but they're not going to remove it from the game right away. Come on, they haven't removed Zoe or Seraphine yet either, and there are petitions calling for their removal — do you really think Riot's going to remove the dragon that fast?
