Marvel's Midnight Suns: How to Increase Friendship Levels

Who wouldn't want to be best friends with a superhero? We have had plenty of chances in various games to play as many of our favorite heroes and fight alongside them, but apart from Marvel's Midnight Suns, none of them lets you hang out and get to know them. Although this may not sound like the most exciting thing to do in a game, raising your friendship level with these heroes gives you a tangible benefit when the fists start flying. Here is how to increase friendship levels in Marvel's Midnight Suns.

What Are Friendship Levels in Marvel's Midnight Suns?

As well as learning about these iconic characters and seeing some otherwise hidden sequences, raising friendship levels will give you a big advantage when you go into a battle. Individual heroes will benefit from new and improved passive abilities, combo abilities, better stats and new ability cards.

The benefits don't end there. Raising friendship levels high enough across all players will raise your team friendship level for even more bonuses. These include access to more combined abilities, opening the Gift Shop and the option to compliment.

How Do You Increase Friendship Levels in Marvel's Midnight Suns?

Hang Out

After every main mission, you will have the option to take a hero out on a Hangout. You can choose among several things to do with each hero, so you need to pick something they will enjoy doing, or you may risk losing friendship XP with them.

Dialogue Choices

Sometimes, you are presented with a few different dialogue options when talking to other characters. These can come up any time you have a chance to talk to other characters, so always try to talk to everyone whenever you get the chance. You will generally want to choose the "nice" answer and agree with them to raise friendship levels, but some characters respond better to other options.

Debate

Another thing you can spend your daytime hours on at the Abbey is a debate in the Training Yard. Whoever you choose to fight will get easy friendship XP, and if you bring them with you on your next mission, you will also get a boost. You can only do this once a day and it costs credits, but it is an easy way to get consistent friendship XP.

Compliments

Once you unlock the ability to compliment, which is awkward even to say, this option will appear when you approach heroes in the Abbey. Just don't go overboard when maxing out a single hero too quickly, or you will end up no longer earning XP for them.

Havens

Havens are very similar to Hang Outs, except that instead of doing a specific activity, you invite a hero to a different place around the Abbey to calm down. You can only use each Haven once with any hero, but at that price, you get twice the normal friendship XP you would normally get from Havens.

Gifts

After unlocking the gift shop, buy nice gifts for your super-powered friends. There are a ton of gifts and you can find them lying around, but every hero has a different taste in gifts.

Going on Missions

Finally, nothing builds friendship like good old teamwork. Just by taking a hero on a mission, they will earn a small amount of friendship XP at the end.
