Is Metaphor ReFantazio Coming to Game Pass?

Metaphor: ReFantazio is drawing attention as the new project from Atlus, one of the leading developers of Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs). The game aims to deliver an immersive JRPG experience set in a different universe, from the creators of the Persona series. So, is this highly anticipated game coming to Xbox Game Pass?

Is Metaphor ReFantazio Coming to Game Pass?

In recent years, Atlus and its publisher Sega have started supporting the Xbox ecosystem by bringing many of their games to the platform. The Persona series in particular has drawn considerable interest from Xbox users. In 2022, Persona 5 Royal leaving its PlayStation-exclusive status behind to come to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass was one of the biggest steps in this strategy. This move helped the Persona series reach a wider audience and boosted interest in the JRPG genre.

Not only that, but Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden were also added to Xbox Game Pass in 2023. These games stayed on the service for a year and were discovered by many new players. It was also announced that recently revealed games like Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica would be added to Xbox Game Pass on their launch day.

Despite all these developments, it has been announced that Metaphor: ReFantazio — despite launching on PC and other platforms — will not be included on Xbox Game Pass. Many players expected Metaphor to join the list as well, given that other Atlus and Sega games have been added to Game Pass. Unfortunately, though, that expectation didn't pan out. Metaphor: ReFantazio currently sits among the games that won't be added to Xbox Game Pass.

What Is Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Metaphor: ReFantazio is described as a JRPG set in a unique fantasy world, drawing inspiration from Atlus's best-known series like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. The game invites players into a magical universe while also standing out for its deep strategy and storytelling. Features we're used to from the Persona series — character relationships, deep dialogue, and turn-based combat — also appear in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Its story is built around deep themes like the search for identity, one's own fate, and social dynamics.

Players interact with a range of interesting and unique characters, battle various enemies, and solve complex puzzles.

One of the most notable aspects of Metaphor: ReFantazio is its combat system, which blends turn-based and real-time action, along with its striking world. However, a question Turkish players are curious about is whether the game will offer Turkish language support. We covered the answer to that in our article, Will Metaphor ReFantazio Get a Turkish Translation?
