How Can I Sign New Players in PES 2021? (By Improving Your Scout Combinations)

If you want to sign a specific player, you will need a scout combination in PES 2021. You can get the free ones, and you can also go to the auctions to buy the ones you are missing.

All players will be Level 1 - before PES 2020, this meant you had to train them up to Level 30 to reach their default state, but now you get the player at his true potential right away.

You can get duplicate players through agents, but that is not the case with your scouts - which means that if you already have a player in your squad, you can't scout him again.

What Are the Ways to Build Up Free Scouts in PES 2021?

After every game you play (or SIM) you will receive a free 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-star scout. The number of stars matters, because for a Gold Ball player you need to combine 4-star Scouts (or you need to mix 5 stars with a 4-star and a 3-star scout arm so that the average is 4 stars). For a Silver Ball you can use 3-star scouts. You can have up to 150 Scouts at any time.

If you try your luck with a single scout, your chance of finding even a Gold Ball player, let alone the one you are looking for, will be very low. To increase the chance of getting a specific player, you need to combine scouts.

You can combine up to 3 scouts. Every time you add a new scout, you are essentially narrowing down the list of players you can get.

As an example, say you want to transfer Nicolás Tagliafico (Gold Ball, rated 84) to your team. You can combine 3 scouts ("Dutch League"/"LB"/"N/S American") and your chance of getting him will be 50%.

Want 100%? Either you will need to have the other possible player in your club, or you will need to swap "Dutch League" for "Ajax" to narrow it down to 100%.

The point is that for a specific club you need to go to the Auction House (topic below). You can access the PES database to see the combinations you need for the players you want.

There are some players you can get by combining just 3 free scouts - for example Perisic, the only possible player if you combine these 4* scouts: "Other (Europe)"/"LMF"/"Ball Control".

Which Players Can I Get From PES 2021 Auctions?

According to the PES database, here are all the Gold Ball Players you can get with free scouts (100% chance) in PES 2021 auctions (they may change throughout the year with Data Packs):

To find all the players (Bronze, Silver or Gold) you can sign for free for PES 2021, you can use this helpful spreadsheet. First make sure you click "File > Make a copy".

The spreadsheet gives you the players you can scout after you enter your scout inventory.

You will see that next to each possible scout you have a number between 2 and 4 (this is the number of the scout's stars). As you add more and more scouts to the spreadsheet, unlocked players will be highlighted in green.

As an example, if you add "1" next to "English League 4*", "LWF 4*" and "Offensive Awareness 4*" for M. Rashford, he will be available.

What Happens If I Bid at an Auction in PES 2021 but Don't Check the Result Before the Update Is Released?

There are three possible outcomes:

1) If you didn't win the auction, the GP you bid will be refunded to you.

2) If you win and the Scout you obtained through the auction has players you can sign when you first log in to PES 2021, you will receive your Scout in your Inbox after the update.

3) If you win, but the Scout you obtained through the auction has no players to sign when you first log in to PES 2021, your Scout will be replaced with another with the same Negotiation Skill (★-★★★). This Scout will be sent to your Inbox after the update.

*Users cannot choose the Scout category they get through Scout exchanges. *Some Scouts obtained through trading may temporarily be unable to sign any players.

Auction Houses for PES 2021 Scouts

You don't get Nationality, Club, Skill or Style scouts from games, so at some point you will need to come here.

Once you know which scout(s) you are missing, you need to place a bid on them. I usually add those scouts to my wishlist and place a bid when I notice those scouts are available.

You can place your final bid right away, so you don't have to sit and wait until the auction ends. You can't know your rivals' bids; the only stat you can rely on is the last 5 bids for this exact scout, so this is almost a gamble.

Note that you can't use Coins for this mode - the only currency allowed is GP.

You buy these scouts directly from the game, not from another user - you can actually sell scouts you own and won't use, but the GP reward is very low, so I don't recommend it. For example, you are better off getting a White Ball and using it for SIMs.

You will have noticed I haven't mentioned 5-star scouts at all in the previous topic. That is because 5-star scouts are not a free reward - if you want a Black Ball player, you need to buy all 3 scouts from the Auction House!

Rather than spending a lot of GP to make sure you get a 100% chance, I recommend looking at what you can get with a 50%/33%/25% chance - this is known as clearing the scout pool.

Say you want a Gold Ball player and you have a 25% chance; all 3 other options are White Balls. You can get those players first with cheap/free 1-star Scouts, and then the only player left will be the one you are looking for - a 25% chance becomes a 100% chance.
