Turkish Teams' Road to PGC 2023

Before reaching PGC 2023, Turkish teams took part in a total of 6 major PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS tournaments this year:

• PEC: Spring

• The Rotation

• PGS 1

• PGS 2 EMEA Qualifiers

• PGS 2

• PEC: Fall

While 48 Turkish teams registered for the PEC: Spring Open Qualifiers, that number rose to 50 for the PEC: Fall Open Qualifiers. The teams that stood out across the year's tournaments were HOWL, FUT Esports, Digital Athletics, Sarvem Esports, BBL Esports, and PCIFIC esports. Of these teams, HOWL and FUT Esports are the Turkish teams competing at PGC 2023.

Digital Athletics narrowly missed qualification after dropping in the PEC: Fall standings and failing to earn enough PGC Points to advance to PGC. BBL Esports' non-Turkish roster looked great on paper, but the players unfortunately couldn't translate their individual skill into team success. Sarvem Esports showed some promise mid-year but delivered an inconsistent performance throughout the year, missing out on a spot at PGC 2023. PCIFIC esports, featuring former BBL Esports players Quetpa and Thenderlost, qualified for PEC: Fall but finished sixth in the overall standings.

HOWL, who won PEC: Spring, earned the same total points as Acend, but their total placement points broke the crucial tie and made them the PEC: Spring winner. The team had a great start to the year, but their performance fell short at the last two EMEA events. Even so, the points they accumulated over the year earned them a spot at PGC 2023.

FUT Esports, which also features foreign players, frequently placed near the top at major events throughout the year. Although they didn't win any of these events, they put up extremely impressive stats. Finishing 4th at PEC: Spring, 2nd at The Rotation, and 3rd at PEC: Fall, the team qualified for PGC with a total of 1,950 PGC Points, landing an impressive second place in the overall PGC 2023 standings behind Twisted Minds.
