While concrete information about GTA 6 is slowly emerging amid a long wait, we also have some predictions about Red Dead Redemption 3. Despite the huge commercial success of Red Dead Redemption 2, released in 2018, what's known about its sequel is currently quite limited. So will Red Dead Redemption 3 come out? Despite recent rumors, Rockstar hasn't made any statement about Red Dead Redemption 3. Before starting the next big project, the development teams' resources are focused on GTA 6. Red Dead Redemption 3 may already be in development.

It doesn't seem very likely that the game will release within 10 years. That would put its release far into the future. Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 launched eight years apart, in 2010 and 2018 respectively. If there's that much time between 2 and 3, fans will likely be disappointed.

Which City Will RDR 3 Be Set In?

With RDR 3, we could return to Mexico and America once again. Since Rockstar already has a GTA game set in London, setting the game in the United Kingdom doesn't seem out of the question either.

What Will the RDR 3 Story Be Like?

Fan theories currently see Landon Ricketts as the front-runner for the story. Ricketts wouldn't stray too far from the template set by John Marston and Arthur Morgan, since he's another famous gunslinger whose story hasn't been told in the games yet. In Red Dead Redemption 1, we meet an older Landon Ricketts, but very little is known about the story behind the legend, which is why RDR fans are eager to see his story. Fans also want to explore Charles Smith's backstory. Charles was one of the most popular characters in Red Dead Redemption 2. He was born to a Native American mother and an African American father, and eventually found his way into Dutch's gang. We think exploring Charles Smith's backstory in the new game would be exciting.
