The Sims 4 StrangerVille Guide!
The Sims 4 StrangerVille is the first add-on pack in The Sims PC series to offer a story mode. In the StrangerVille story, your Sim discovers that the residents of StrangerVille are affected by a disturbing illness and has to follow clues to uncover the source of the illness and destroy it. The story is optional; if you choose not to follow the story when you arrive in StrangerVille, the lot will have little effect on your Sim there. The town will stay a bit weird, but if you want to rid StrangerVille of all its strangeness and return everything to normal, you will need to play the story from start to finish. We will guide you on how to do it! Here is the The Sims 4 StrangerVille guide:
The Sims 4 StrangerVille Guide
The Sims 4 StrangerVille Guide Part 1: StrangerVille

Quests:
- Talk to Sims about StrangerVille
- Examine the door in the Secret Lab
- Collect evidence in the Secret Lab
- Collect 15 pieces of evidence around StrangerVille
- Compile a Secret File
- Give the File to a Scientist, Military Personnel or a Curio Shop Owner
- Open the door in the Secret Lab
When you first arrive in StrangerVille, things do not look quite right. Something strange is going on in this town. Start by asking the Sims in town questions about StrangerVille. Be sure to ask every kind of Sim: the Curio Shop Owner, Conspiracy Theorists, Scientists, Military Personnel, Possessed Sims and Civilians. Each will have unique information to share with you. After asking some people in town, something emerges: everything seems to point to the Secret Lab in a crater outside town. Go to the Secret Lab to investigate further. The Secret Lab looks abandoned. The whole lab is fenced off with barbed wire, and on the main floor there are scattered papers, as if whoever was there fled in a hurry. There is a large metal door leading down to the basement. Examining the door will reveal that it is locked and can only be entered with a keycard. Before leaving the lab, wander around to collect evidence. Go through the whole main floor, rummaging through the stacks of papers on the desks and the abandoned file boxes lying on the ground. Do not forget to take a picture of the door as evidence, too. In total, you should have 9 pieces of evidence in your inventory by the time you finish searching the lab. After getting your evidence, keep looking for clues around StrangerVille. There is more than one way to collect evidence about StrangerVille:
- Research the StrangerVille archives at the library.
- Plant a bug (listening device) on Scientists and Military Personnel.
- Become friends with Scientists and Military Personnel.
Keep collecting evidence until you have 15 pieces in your inventory. Once you have 15 pieces of evidence, you will be able to compile a Secret File. Click the evidence in your inventory to compile the file. Show the Secret File to a Scientist, Military Personnel or the Curio Shop Owner to get a keycard to open the door in the Secret Lab. If a Scientist or Military Personnel refuses to give you a keycard even after receiving the Secret File, try becoming friends with them so they trust you enough to give you the keycard. If you choose to get the keycard from the Curio Shop Owner, you need to buy it from the Curio Shop's Secret Inventory. After getting the keycard, go back to the Secret Lab and open the door. The keycard will let you access the first floor of the basement. There is another door leading down to the next floor of the basement, but it is at the end of a corridor filled with purple spores. Trying to walk through the spores will cause your Sim to collapse and wake up possessed for a while. If you want to reach the end of the corridor unharmed and open the door there, you will need a hazmat suit to protect you from the spores. On this floor of the basement, there is another room with some chemical analyzers glowing red, which probably means you should hover over them. They are important. Hovering over the analyzers informs you that you need to collect spore clusters to use them. If you want to find spore clusters, which you can get from Military Personnel, you will need an Infection Scanner. There is nothing else you can do here right now, so leave the Secret Lab and go back to StrangerVille.
Part 2: The Bloom Begins

Quests:
- Convince Military Personnel to give you an Infection Scanner
- Collect Spore Clusters in the Secret Lab
- Create Infection Profile Data in the Secret Lab
- Get a Spore Filter from a Scientist
- Question the Curio Shop Owner about the spores
- Buy a Hazmat Suit from the Curio Shop
- Assemble the Hazmat Suit
- Open the second and third doors in the Secret Lab
- Develop 3 experimental vaccines
Whatever you took out of the lab seems to be making things even worse. The color of the sky has changed, more Sims are acting strangely, strange plants have started popping up all over town, and there are purple spores floating in the air everywhere. You must get this under control quickly! Go to the bar in StrangerVille where the military likes to hang out. Find a Military Personnel and convince them to give you an Infection Scanner. The first time you ask for the Infection Scanner, they will refuse. Keep socializing with the Military Personnel until you become friends. When you ask for the scanner again, you can choose to do it in several different ways:
- Bribe for the Scanner ($750)
- Fight for the Infection Scanner
- Impress for the Infection Scanner
- Pull Rank for the Infection Scanner (requires Military career level 5 or above)
- Seduce for the Infection Scanner
If your Sim is high-level in the Military career, pulling rank is the easiest way. If your Sim is not in the Military career or is not high enough in it, the easiest way to get the Infection Scanner is to bribe the Military Personnel, but it will cost you $750. The other methods can work too. After flirting with the Military Personnel for a while, you can also try to seduce the scanner successfully. Once you have the Infection Scanner, go back to the Secret Lab to collect spore clusters. Click anywhere in the Secret Lab and select Scan Here. Each scan will produce 5 spore clusters on the ground near your Sim. Put the spore clusters in your Sim's inventory. The Infection Scanner can only be used 3 times before it needs to be recharged. Wait a short while for the Infection Scanner to fully recharge again. Fortunately, the scanner's 3 uses should produce exactly the 15 spore clusters you need for the next step. Once you have 15 spore clusters, take them to the chemical analyzers below and select Create Infection Profile Data. This should interest a Scientist! Leave the Secret Lab and go to the library in StrangerVille, where Scientists like to spend time. Like the Military Personnel, Scientists will not want to help you until they learn you can be trusted with sensitive information. The first time you meet them about the spores, they will refuse to help you. Keep socializing with a Scientist. Once you are friends, the Scientist will gladly take the infection data you collected and use it to develop a Spore Filter for you. When the Spore Filter is ready, it will arrive in your mailbox the next day. The Spore Filter is useless without the rest of the Hazmat Suit. Question the Curio Shop Owner about the spores found in the lab. They will tell you they have a Hazmat Suit in stock, but it probably will not be useful without a Spore Filter. Buy the Hazmat Suit from the Curio Shop's Secret Inventory for $1,000. Once again, the Curio Shop Owner will warn you that the Hazmat Suit does not work without a Spore Filter, but if you are following this guide, you already have one. With both the Spore Filter and the Hazmat Suit in your inventory, click one of them and select Assemble Hazmat Suit. You now have a fully working Hazmat Suit that will let you pass through those spore clouds in the Secret Lab's basement! Go back to the Secret Lab and put on the Hazmat Suit. Click it in your inventory and select Wear Hazmat Suit. Walk through the corridor with the purple spore clouds you could not get past before and open the door with your keycard. Go down both staircases to reach a large room full of strange plants in containment pods. There will be another corridor covered in purple fungus, which leads to another keycard door. Go down the corridor and open that door. You come face to face with the cause of StrangerVille's problems: a giant Mother Plant deep in the Secret Lab's basement! You are definitely not ready to face an enemy this size right now. The wisest course of action is to fall back and start exploring the lab to find a way to defeat this thing. Now that you understand the biological profile of the infection and have discovered its cause, you need to create some vaccines. You need allies to fight this thing, but almost everyone is under the Mother's control and will not want to help you. First you need to develop a vaccine so you can cure them. Before you flee the Secret Lab in horror, scan 15 more spore clusters, then go up and select Cultivate on the three strange plants outside the lab so you can harvest 3 strange fruits. You will need these for the vaccines. Go back down and use the chemical analyzer to develop 3 experimental vaccines with the materials you just collected, then return to StrangerVille.
Part 3: Stop the Infection

Quests:
- Test the Experimental Vaccines on 3 possessed Sims
- Create 3 Infection Vaccines
- Cure 3 possessed Sims and recruit them to fight The Mother
- Create Extra Infection Vaccines
- Fight the Mother
It is time to test your vaccines on possessed Sims. Find 3 possessed Sims wandering around StrangerVille and test your experimental vaccines on them. The first two attempts will fail to cure the infection, but you will find success with the third batch you test. Now you have everything you need to create an effective vaccine, so go back to the Secret Lab and collect more spore clusters and strange fruit. You will need 15 spore clusters and 3 strange fruits to make 3 more vaccines. Create 3 Infection Vaccines at the chemical analyzers in the Secret Lab. These should treat the infection effectively. After getting your 3 vaccines, go back to StrangerVille. Find a possessed Sim in StrangerVille and use your new vaccine on them, but do not move on to the next Sim yet. You should stay and chat with the Sim you cured until you become friends, then recruit them to help you fight the Mother. You cannot recruit Sims who have not been vaccinated recently. If you try to recruit someone who is not your friend, they will refuse. Once you have successfully recruited the Sim, do the same for two more Sims. After you have used all your vaccines, made friends and recruited, you should have three allies. You are one step closer to facing the Mother, but it is a good idea to do some extra preparation. Go back to the Secret Lab and collect more spore clusters and strange fruit to make extra vaccines. Vaccines are not only good for curing possessed Sims; they can also be used as weapons against the Mother and deal a lot of damage. How many vaccines you make is up to you, but the more the better. I like to make 5 just to be on the safe side. 5 vaccines will require 25 spore clusters and 5 strange fruits. Once you have your allies and extra vaccines, you are finally ready to fight the Mother!

Conclusion: A Little Less StrangerVille

Congratulations! You defeated the Mother and saved StrangerVille! If your Sim has the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration, it will complete the aspiration and gain the StrangerVille Hero reward trait. Defeating the Mother will add a piece of the Mother to your household inventory as a trophy that you can display in your home. The trophy is only a decor object and has no special interactions or moods attached to it, but it is quite large and unique-looking. Just because the main story is over does not mean your adventures in StrangerVille have to end! There are still eccentric Sims to meet and interesting places to explore in town. Why not wander around where the plane crashed or enjoy a drink at the bar? If you are tired of StrangerVille being so peaceful, you can always bring the Mother a strange fruit to revive her and save the town again! Or infect the town again and gleefully watch the chaos. It is up to you.
