With Set 5, Reckoning, launching at the end of April, Riot Games, which is preparing to say goodbye to TFT Fates, has announced the final update for Patch 11.8. To players who found it unnecessary for Set 4.5's final balance changes to be released so shortly before Set 5, Riot Games made a statement saying, "After all, there is still LP to be won." Here are the changes we expect with Patch 11.8:

When Is Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Patch 11.8 Coming?

TFT Patch 11.8 has been locked and loaded for April 14, 2021. Typically, servers will go down for three hours at 05:00 local time (depending on server location). After the downtime, the servers will come back online at 8 AM, and the patch will roll out in Oceania before making its way around the world.

What Changes with Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Patch 11.8 Notes?

TFT 11.8 Spirit trait nerf with attack speed valuesSpirit Nerf

The Spirit nerf makes a real difference in both the two-unit and four-unit Spirit comps. With its tremendous early-game power, Spirit had been a problematic comp for most of the set. It is probably right to say that we are saying goodbye to the Spirit comp before saying goodbye to Set 4.5 Fates.

  • 2-unit attack speed reduced from 20% to 18%.
  • 4-unit attack speed reduced from 35% to 30%.

TFT 11.8 Aurelion Sol nerf with ability damage valuesAurelion Sol Nerf

What we said for the Spirit comp also applies to Aurelion Sol. Dragonsoul-Mage was doing a bit too much work, and this did not escape Riot's eye. It is a question whether we will see Aurelion Sol, whose ability damage has dropped, in the meta again.

  • Ability damage reduced from 325/500/1400 to 300/475/1300.

Damage Update for 5-Cost Champions

TFT 11.8 Azir, Sett, Samira and Ornn damage changesWith one patch left before the end of TFT Fates, Riot Games did not neglect to review the 5-cost champions as well. From what we understand of these damage balance changes, Riot seems to want to have some fun and expects us to pay more attention to 5-cost champions. It looks like it will be to your benefit to save any Neekos you have until the end of the game. This may sound a bit confusing so far, but let me explain why I say so:

Azir

  • Ability wall damage increased from 200/350/8888 to 225/375/18888.

Ornn

  • Ability damage increased from 150/250/750 to 175/275/9999.

Samira

  • Ability base damage changed from 15/25/40 to 10/20/777.

Sett

  • Primary damage increased from 40/60/400% to 40/60/800%.
  • Secondary damage increased from 20/30/200% to 20/30/400%.
