Agents

  • Neon
    • Fixed a bug that caused Neon to be slightly misplaced while her hitbox was sliding.

Gameplay Systems

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the pause vote from starting after switching sides during overtime in Premier matches.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the ability UI to appear in the death cam.

Maps

  • Abyss
    • Fixed spots where the Spike could get stuck on ledges outside the map, becoming unreachable.
    • Fixed a bug that caused Omen to die when teleporting to a specific spot in Mid Bottom.
    • Fixed several visual bugs.
  • Sunset
    • Players can no longer stand on top of the long box at A Alley.

VALORANT 9.02 Patch Notes: PC

GENERAL UPDATES

  • All new players will now be required to go through Basic Training, and these players will be able to optionally play a bot training match.
  • Players who are already playing the game can access Basic Training and the Range from the Practice menu.

GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS UPDATES

  • Combat Report
    • The in-game combat report now has a new look.
    • The combat report will now appear by default during the buy phase. It will be possible to toggle the combat report on and off during this phase.

PREMIER UPDATES

  • Playoff finals for the Challengers and Invite pools will be played as best-of-3 series. Matches before the finals will be played as best-of-1 series.
    • The map pick and ban step in matchups will now happen before each match's agent select phase.
    • Once a map has been played, it can't be played again in other matches in the matchup.
  • Playoff qualification requirements have been added to the sidebar on the standings page.

    • Fixed an issue that caused the playoff results text on the standings page to always appear in English.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the wrong background to appear on the team page.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the standings page content to not refresh when switching stages from the dropdown menu.
  • Gameplay Systems
    • The combat report's detailed info screen is missing the "Weapon/Ability," "Damage," and "Hits" headers. This will be fixed in the next patch.
  • Premier
    • The countdown for the rest period between matches during a tournament sometimes doesn't appear.
      • If a match hasn't started 10 seconds after you see "MATCH STARTING" in the lobby, going to the Premier tab and back to the lobby will refresh the countdown.
      • Even if the countdown doesn't appear, the match will still start at the scheduled time. You will still see the "MATCH FOUND" notification.
      • There is always at least a 5-minute break between matches. This can be longer if you're waiting for a match to finish in order to determine your next opponent.

GENERAL UPDATES

  • If the minimap zoom is above 1.0, the "Keep Player Centered" setting will be forced on.

AGENT UPDATES

  • Toggleable Abilities: Abilities that previously required holding down a button to use can now be used as a "Toggle." This lets you control the ability however you like after pressing and releasing the button.
    • You can set the following abilities to "Toggle" in your agent profile settings:
      • Harbor: High Tide
      • Phoenix: Wall of Fire
      • Skye: Guiding Light
  • Neon
    • High Gear
      • The descriptions in High Gear's info panel have been updated to match the ability's bindings.
  • Sova
    • Hunter's Fury
      • Aiming Hunter's Fury with the controller is now easier.

MAP UPDATES

  • Icebox is coming to Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay and Team Deathmatch modes.

SOCIAL UPDATES

  • The in-game scoreboard now has voice chat control shortcuts. You can now open the scoreboard and press a single button to mute other players or switch voice channels.
  • Audio has been added to social notifications. You'll now hear a notification sound when you receive a friend request or party invite.
  • Party information has been added to the social panel. You'll now be able to see how many players are in your friends' party from your friends list.

BUG FIXES

General

  • Fixed an issue that could cause controls to stop working while interacting with the surrender vote system.
  • Fixed an issue that caused unbound buttons to appear incorrectly in the control scheme.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the minimap to spin while spectating other players after dying.

    • There is a bug where, after reaching the second checkpoint while playing the Basic Training Event, the end-of-game screen on the Progress page shows current progress as +1 instead of the actual +2. This data is shown correctly on other screens in the client, and players are earning their full XP. This issue will be fixed in Patch 9.03.
