Astra

Astra is quite strong even though she is the latest addition to VALORANT. To use any of Astra's abilities, you must enter Astral Form. When Astra enters this form, she can place stars on the map and later activate those stars to use her basic abilities. These range from a Gravity Well to pull enemies in, to a Nova Pulse that can concuss enemies, to creating a Nebula that throws smoke. She can also dissipate that smoke to create a brief smoke effect and give her star back to use later, which can lead to all kinds of fakes and double fakes that confuse your opponent. Her ultimate is a giant wall that dampens sound and blocks incoming fire, splitting the entire map in two. This is an important feature that helps Astra's whole team hide before making a move and surprise their opponents.

Chamber

Chamber, a Sentinel, has many powerful abilities that can leave enemies vulnerable and helpless. In the game, Chamber places a trap that scans for enemies. When a visible enemy enters the trap's range, the trap starts a countdown and then shakes the ground around it. Players in this area are slowed. With this ability, Chamber equips a big pistol. You can aim down sights with the pistol using right click. He also places two teleport anchors. While on the ground and near one anchor, he reuses his ability to teleport to the other one he placed. The anchors can be picked up from the ground and placed again. Another feature is that he equips a powerful, special sniper rifle, and every player hit by this rifle dies in one shot. When an enemy is killed, a field forms around the enemy that slows those inside it.

Jett

Jett stands out as the fastest agent on our list. With the same element of surprise that Omen can have with his teleport, Jett is unbeatable at surprising players with her quick movement and vertical abilities. She commands the skies so she can launch herself up or forward. Her passive ability is that she can glide instead of falling to the ground (if you hold the space bar).

Skye

By her nature, Skye is good at gathering information (only when you have a team that will act on that information). Although her healing and sudden flashes may appeal to some players, there isn't much else for her to do. She is also an agent entirely dependent on team play. While she is a great choice for five-stacks and competitive games, it doesn't seem likely that she will be of much use to us in solo queue.

Sova

Sova is a great agent for those who like playing team games. With his recon abilities and a bit of damage-dealing ability, playing Sova is an art in itself. So if you want to play him, you will need to be good at math and know your angles. If you know where to put Sova's recon arrows, they are a great tool for gathering information. When you play separately from the team, the information you gather with him may not be very useful on its own. Although he gives away your position quite quickly, Sova also has a great drone for scouting.

A-Tier Agents

Breach

Breach is probably one of the most complex agents in the game, so you should think twice before playing him. His abilities can often hurt teammates and cause big problems if used wrongly. Without proper coordination, it would be a stretch to say that Breach's abilities will have any direct benefit.

Cypher

Cypher has regressed in his key features with recent patches, and his pick rate has been in decline since then. While he is one of the best agents in the game for gathering information, the latest changes in the meta have led to a serious decline in his effectiveness.

Killjoy

Drawing her opponents' attention to the turrets while planting the bomb is one of her deadliest weapons. Her equipment is both unique and powerful. This makes her a great agent for every team.

Omen

Omen has powerful abilities, but being unpredictable is the key. Since expert players can predict standard Omen plays, you have to be creative if you want to gain an edge over opponents. His smokes are useful, and his paranoia ability is great for blinding enemies hiding in corners. If you're new to the game, Omen is a really fun agent to try. Omen is a defensive powerhouse and is definitely AAA level on defense. On offense, although he is useful for pushing the enemy toward a certain spot, he absolutely needs a team that combines well around him.

Phoenix

Phoenix is a fiery (literally) Londoner who controls various flame abilities. Like Viper, he has the ability to raise a wall that blocks enemies' vision, and like Brimstone he has a Molotov. Although these abilities damage other players, they heal Phoenix. This makes it a great ability for aggressive players with low risk.

Raze

VALORANT fans complained in the past that Raze's abilities focused too much on damage, which was far from the philosophy that a character's abilities should come after the guns. Riot Games has balanced her powers since the game's release, so she is no longer as strong as before. For that reason, her pick rate started to drop quite quickly until Patch 2.06. But with the new patch, she is now seen as an ideal duo with Jett and is being used more, because she can often come out on top in chaotic duels.

Reyna

Reyna was a bit of a surprise to players at first. Players initially realized she was quite a selfish agent and noticed she has little to offer when it comes to team play. Those who like playing Reyna have to decide well when and where to use this agent. If those situations are life-or-death moments or ranked games, the situation is not very encouraging.

Sage

Sage is an agent with many of the features you would expect from a VALORANT support character. She can heal herself or others during a round, which gives everyone a bit longer life on the field. Her ultimate is also the ability to bring a teammate back to life, which makes her an important agent in most team setups you make.

Viper

Despite a series of buffs, Viper is still one of the worst agents in the game. Even though she drew a lot of attention with the latest patch, we can comfortably say she is still not a meta agent.

B-Tier Agents

Brimstone

If you know VALORANT, you also know that many agents' smokes are blocking smoke orbs or effects that stop enemies from seeing your position. Brimstone-type agents in particular are useful because they drop their bombs directly from the sky. This may not sound important when you first hear it, but it means enemies can't know where Brimstone is placing the bombs from, so you can keep holding your position and wait for the opponent to make a move.

KAY/O

KAY/O is exceptionally strong. His flashes let him be a self-sufficient fragger. FRAG/MENT can clear choke points and pressure the map. Lastly, and most importantly, his signature ability is a tremendous information gatherer for the team. Not to mention his suppression potential, it means he can play off-the-wall games like Raze and Jett.

Yoru

If you like hiding and surprising enemies with a well-timed move, Yoru may be for you, but other than that, I'm sorry to say that most of his flaws haven't been solved with the latest patch and buffs, so it doesn't look likely that we'll see him high in these rankings.
