Ways to Boost FPS in VALORANT
There are a few steps that can eliminate the sudden FPS drops, lag and stuttering that VALORANT players, especially on low-spec computers, often run into, and the first of them is adjusting the in-game graphics settings.
VALORANT FPS Boost Settings 2023!
How Do I Stabilize FPS in VALORANT With In-Game Settings?
The graphics settings you can change inside VALORANT help you play the game more smoothly.- First, go to Settings.
- Go to General Settings.
- Set Display Mode to Fullscreen.
- Lower your resolution depending on your computer's performance.
- Lock your FPS to 60 with the Limit FPS option. (If you have a monitor of 60 Hz or below, you can get 61 FPS, but your monitor will give you at most 60 Hz.)
How Do You Boost FPS in VALORANT With Graphics Quality Settings?
Set the four options in the Graphics Quality tab, Material Quality, Texture Quality, Detail Quality and UI Quality, to Low if your computer's performance is low and you don't want to lose concentration in the game; these options make the visual elements in the game more detailed. Otherwise, you will strain your eyes for nothing. Even if you are on a high-performance computer, turning these settings off will increase your concentration in the game.
The Vignette setting has little effect on our game. It removes the darkening that makes the corners of your screen impossible to even see while playing. Since it is not a very necessary or urgent setting, we are setting Vignette to Off as well. Another setting, VSync, is used to prevent momentary screen tearing while you play. However, turning it on will delay the response time of your keyboard and mouse. That is why we are also turning VSync Off.
Anti-Aliasing reduces the pixels of elements in the game and lightens the load on your graphics card, if only a little. That is why we keep this setting as low as possible too. In the same way, you should use Anisotropic Filtering as low as possible. Using Anisotropic Filtering at its highest adds nothing to game performance.
Improve Clarity, Experimental Sharpening, Bloom, Distortion and Cast Shadows will not give you an in-game advantage, because they are all extra features that make the game look more vivid and realistic. Unless you have a very good computer, it is worth keeping these options off as well. But let's take a look at what these settings do, however small.
What Does the Improve Clarity Setting Do?
The Improve Clarity option adjusts the contrast in the game, but whether it is on or off, it will add nothing to your game performance.
What Does the Experimental Sharpening Setting Do?
Experimental Sharpening makes game elements that are normally a little blurry look sharper. But what we want is not as much clarity as possible but as much performance as possible, so it is worth keeping this setting off as well.
What Does the Bloom Setting Do?
The Bloom setting makes elements in the game that emit light give off more realistic light. If you are not a fan of cosmetics and don't have a very good computer, let's keep this setting off too.
What Do the Distortion and Cast Shadows Settings Do?
The other two settings, Distortion and Cast Shadows, are the same kind of settings I mentioned above. If we enable these settings, which don't contribute anything to the game even visually, they will cause FPS losses of around 5-6%, so what do we do? We turn them off.
How Do You Boost FPS in VALORANT With Windows Settings?
- First, go to the hard drive where VALORANT is installed.
- Open the Riot Games folder.
- Open the VALORANT folder.
- Then open the live folder.
- Right-click the VALORANT application and click Properties.
- In the Properties menu, click Compatibility.
- Disable fullscreen optimizations.
- Click Change high DPI settings.
- At the bottom, click Override high DPI scaling behavior.
- Then save the settings and click Apply.
In the live folder we entered, click the ShooterGame folder, then go to Binaries and then the Win64 folder. We apply the steps we followed above to the VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe application in this folder.
With these settings, we disable Windows' fullscreen optimizations and reduce Input Lag to a minimum. We also increase our FPS in an observable way.
How Do You Get a VALORANT FPS Boost With Windows Settings in 2021?
We don't recommend the next setting for laptop users, because the steps below will reduce your laptop's battery life. That is why it will be more beneficial for the lifespan of your computer if only gamers who use a desktop computer do what follows.
Right-click the This PC folder.- Click Properties.
- Then, in the section that appears,
- Click Advanced system settings.
- Go to Performance Options.
- And click Adjust for best performance and save. This setting reduces effects and animations that take up processing power to a minimum and directs all of your computer's performance to the game you are playing.
