VALORANT Patch 7.02 Notes: Esports Hub and Bug Fixes (August 2023)

VALORANT 7.02 patch notes are finally out! The new patch notes largely include system changes and many bug fixes. Here are the full patch notes:

Agent Updates

• Jett's voice lines were updated. Lines were added for her interactions with Gekko and Neon.

Esports Features

The Esports Hub Is Now in the Game!

• Join in the excitement of VCT Champions 2023 and don't miss the great rivalry at the peak of the 2023 VCT season!
• Between your matches you will now be able to check out the action on the esports side. Follow the teams competing in the tournaments and the tournament schedule, and watch the teams you support rise from the group stages to the playoff groups.
• The Esports Hub will take its place in the game on August 2. Matches will begin on August 6 and end with the grand final on August 26.

Player Behavior Changes

• Players who have been banned from their team's voice chat are now also banned from party voice chat.
• Our Real-Time Text Evaluation and intervention system is going live in VALORANT globally. This system, which mutes players who behave negatively in voice and text chat during a game, had only been tested on North American servers until now. Thanks to the test in North America, we think we are ready to adapt this system to other languages and make it global. The system will be added to the game with a mid-patch update and will be rolled out gradually.

Bug Fixes

General

• Fixed an issue that caused the Spray Wheel not to appear in the warmups of the Team Deathmatch and Escalation game modes.
• Fixed a bug that caused the animation to keep stopping and restarting when trying to defuse the Spike while standing at the very edge of a Spike zone.
• Fixed an issue that prevented changing the movement mode by pressing the in-game assigned key when the Walk option was set to "Hold."
• Fixed an issue that caused the Copy Profile button not to gray out and become disabled after the maximum number of Crosshair Profiles was reached.

Agents

• Fixed a bug that caused Omen's From the Shadows (X) and Shrouded Step (C) not to cancel during the prep phase before teleporting when hit by KAY/O's ZERO/point (E) or Deadlock's Annihilation (X). Visual warnings showing that the teleport prep was canceled were also added.
• Fixed a bug that caused the knife hilt in KAY/O's ZERO/point (E) not to disappear after the suppression pulse.
• Fixed a bug that caused Deadlock's Sonic Sensor (Q) not to trigger in some cases when Gekko's Dizzy (Q) started defusing the Spike.
• Fixed a bug that caused the correct visuals not to appear at the location where Chamber's Rendezvous (E) was used.
• Fixed an issue that caused players caught by Deadlock's Annihilation (X) not to die as they should when taking damage from the Spike explosion.
• Fixed issues that caused Raze's Showstopper (X) rocket not to explode when it hit players caught by Deadlock's Annihilation (X).
• Fixed issues that caused abilities that deal damage over time to an area, such as Phoenix's Hot Hands (E), not to damage Deadlock's Barrier Mesh (E).
• Fixed an issue that caused Brimstone's Orbital Strike (X) not to damage the cocoon of Deadlock's Annihilation (X).
• Fixed an issue that caused Skye to gain an extra Guiding Light (E) charge after switching sides.

Maps

• Fixed a bug that caused the teleport sound to cut out when the teleporter on the B side of Bind was crossed with controlled abilities such as Sova's Owl Drone (C).

Premier

• Fixed an issue that caused the timer showing the Premier Weekly Match Reset not to show the number of days left until the reset.
