What Should Volibear's Runes Be?

Before diving into Volibear, we'll answer the question every player is curious about: which runes should you take on Volibear? We obviously can't cover every rune here, so in this article we'll only recommend a rune page for Volibear. Our rune recommendation for Volibear is to take Press the Attack from the Precision tree as your keystone. For the secondary slots, you can take Triumph, Legend: Alacrity and Last Stand on the left side of the rune page.

For your secondary tree, you can take Nimbus Cloak from Sorcery. As your other rune, you can activate Waterwalking to be ready for the game.

What Should Volibear's Build Be?

What is a build? We need to answer that question first. The word "build" comes from English. In a sense, we're constructing Volibear's items the way you'd construct a building, and we want to look at how it takes shape stage by stage, in order of importance. So when players ask what a build is, we can break it down into 3 parts for you. We'll explain those 3 stages — early game, mid-game and late-game — by giving you the items for each.

What Are Volibear's Starting Items?

Before buying a starting item for Volibear, you need to decide which lane you'll play him in. In this article, we'll recommend items assuming you're playing Volibear in the jungle. Jungle champions have certain starting items. One of those, Hailblade, is what we'll use on Volibear. Alongside this item, you can start the game with a Refillable Potion and a Warding Totem. The items you should pick up within the next 5 minutes are a pair of boots and Bami's Cinder.

What Are Volibear's Mid-Game Items?

Once the game reaches the 20-minute mark, we can no longer really call it the early game. That means the items we go for will change. At this stage, the items you can pick up are Turbo Chemtank, Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Dead Man's Plate. If the game ends around this point, you'll already be strong.

What Are Volibear's Full Build Items?

Once the game hits the 30-minute mark, we can no longer talk about early or mid-game. From this point on, on top of the items you picked up in the mid-game, you can complete your build with Thornmail, Force of Nature and Spirit Visage. Picking up these items makes you tanky while still letting you deal damage.
