Who Are the Characters?

The game begins in 1579 Japan, a country ruled by strange events. As in Assassin's Creed Syndicate, you play as two heroes. First there's Naoe, a shinobi assassin, and then there's Yasuke, a real-life historical figure, an African immigrant who becomes a samurai.

In terms of combat, Naoe leans more toward a stealth approach, while Yasuke is better suited to charging into encounters. As the name suggests, shadows play an important role in the game; a light meter lets you know how visible or hidden you are from enemies.

Naoe, whose family was killed by samurai, sets out on a path of revenge to make them pay for it, and crosses paths with Yasuke, who was trained as a samurai to help his lord's conquests. The two characters later decide to join forces and turn into a team of hired killers.
