For a while there had been talk that the game would be set during the Gulf War in the early '90s, and the current leaks seem to confirm that theory. What Is CoD Modern Warfare 4 (CoD 2024)'s Release Date?

The game is expected to release in late 2024. But before that, we'll see Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 in late 2023.

The game is being made by the team behind Black Ops. We think it will have a longer TTK than most Call of Duty games, we expect the art style to be vivid and cartoonish, and we think red dots will return to the minimap. It's now almost confirmed that CoD 2024 will be set during the Gulf War.

We think it makes a lot of sense for the developers to want to continue chronologically after Black Ops Cold War and move on to the Gulf War. The '90s will give players access to the modern weapons they're used to, and since it's also a war that hasn't been used in the game space, players will feel refreshed.

For now, unfortunately, we don't know anything else beyond where the game will be set and what kind of feel it will create for players. However, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, which will release before it, is thought to resemble the previous game.
