FC 24's 5 New Skill Moves Explained

After FC 24's gameplay video was released, the first questions that came to mind were what the new series would look like and what would be added to it. Although a lot of new features were mentioned at launch, unfortunately we didn't get much feedback in terms of on-pitch gameplay.

When they released the gameplay video, one of the topics that stood out the most was the new skill moves that were shown off. In particular, the move called Vini Jr's Rainbow Bounce — whose official name we don't know yet, though we think it'll be translated along the lines of a rainbow flick jump. Especially for fans of the rainbow flick move (I'm one of them), it was exciting to see a different take on it coming. Alongside that, 5 other skill moves were also shown in the trailer.

So what were the 5 new skill moves added to FC 24?

What Are FC 24's New Skill Moves?

Ball Roll Cut Back

The first skill move was performed by Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko. Moukoko has 4-star skill moves, so we're assuming the new skill requires a 4-star skill rating like Moukoko's.

Moukoko dribbles with the ball, then does an inside ball roll with his right foot followed by a cut back with his left foot. The animation takes relatively long, but it could have a similar effect to Ball Roll Scoop, one of the best skill moves in FIFA 23.

Rainbow Bounce

For the second skill move, you'll definitely need a 5-star skill rating. It's unclear whether this trick will actually be effective, but it's more of a move meant to humiliate your opponent.

In the trailer, Vinicius Jr. taps the ball lightly like in the Rainbow Flick, but while on the move he flicks the ball to make it bounce over his opponent. It looks amazing, but in the end, it's tailor-made for those who love a good show ;)

A Quick Reverse Move (We Don't Know the Name)

The third skill move is a first-touch move you'll want to perform when you need to quickly escape pressure from an opponent. The player (we couldn't quite identify who it was) touches the ball, fakes a move to the left with his body, then takes the ball to the right. This skill will probably only be useful when receiving the ball. It probably requires a 3-star skill rating.

The New OP Skill Move in EA FC 24: Advanced Elastico

The fourth skill move will by far be the most effective. This is an outward extension of the Elastico, with Vini beating two defenders. The trick is especially useful when the opponent calls in a second defender for a double-team by pressing R1.

Here too, you'll need a 5-star skill rating to perform this move.

Stutter Nutmeg

The last new skill move is a brutal five-star move. Here, it's all about embarrassing your opponent. Whether you'll need a 2-star or 3-star skill rating for this hasn't been confirmed yet.
