FIFA 22 Career Mode Guide: Best Teams to Manage

In 2022, the questions players ask most about FIFA 22 career mode stayed the same. Which team should I pick? Which are the best and most enjoyable teams? Which are the easiest and hardest career mode teams? In this article, we've ranked the 5 teams you'll have the most fun managing in FIFA 22's career mode, along with their transfer budgets and expectations.

What Is FIFA 22 Career Mode?

If you're new to the excitement, let's start by answering what career mode is. Career mode, (career mode), is one of FIFA's oldest and most legendary modes, letting players take charge of their favorite teams and spend hours, even days, in it. Formerly called manager mode, this mode offers you 2 options: player career or manager career. In player career, you put on your jersey and start your career as a footballer, while in manager career, you manage your team from outside the pitch. Of course, when managing your team, you also get the chance to step into matches and control the players. In this article, we'll cover the manager career part of career mode.

Which Team Should I Pick?

Honestly, the answer to this question depends on what you want out of the game. So we tried to be careful when categorizing teams for you. If you answer whether you want a team with a story, an easy adventure, or a success story full of difficulty, our recommendations will be ready for you.

The Strongest Teams You Can Pick in Career Mode

Paris Saint-Germain

• Transfer budget: €160 million
• Eternal rival: Olympique Marseille
• League: Ligue 1
• Team star: Lionel Messi (Position: Right Winger/Rating: 93/Potential: 93/Age: 34)
• Team's wonderkid: Xavi Simons (Position: Central Midfielder/Rating: 65/Potential: 83/Age: 18)

We all probably guessed this team's future roughly. Having Messi, Neymar and Mbappe all at once, Les Parisiens are one of the easiest teams you can pick in FIFA 22. Their enormous transfer budget, the stars in their squad, and the lack of competition in the league all make PSG a great team to start the mode with.

Chelsea

• Transfer budget: €85 million
• Eternal rival: Arsenal
• League: Premier League
• Team star: Romelu Lukaku (Position: Striker/Rating: 88/Potential: 88/Age: 28)
• Team's wonderkid: Harvey Vale (Position: Left Winger/Rating: 63/Potential: 83/Age: 17)

Tuchel's Chelsea finished the 2021 season as Champions League champions, but as everyone knows, the Premier League is the toughest league in the world. At the same time, a team that finished the league in 4th place last season would certainly not say no to a league title. In a Chelsea squad that's quite good and will compete on 4 fronts, managing a fanbase with high expectations makes this a tougher challenge than PSG. You can also embark on a different adventure by developing academy players using Chelsea's wonderkids!

Medium-Strength Teams You Can Pick in Career Mode

VfB Stuttgart

• Transfer budget: €20 million
• Eternal rival: Freiburg
• League: Bundesliga
• Team star: Wataru Endo (Position: Defensive Midfielder/Rating: 78/Potential: 78/Age: 28)
• Team's wonderkid: Wahid Faghir (Position: Striker/Rating: 64/Potential: 84/Age: 17)

As we move to medium-difficulty picks on our list, the teams you can choose start becoming more and more fun. This Stuttgart squad promises us quite a lot. First of all, it's great news that Silas, who performed very well in the Bundesliga last season and is also a really fun card in-game, is still on the team. Alongside Wahid Faghir, Stuttgart also has several wonderkids, the most familiar of these hidden gems being Ömer Beyaz. In this career mode, where you'll try to catch up to Leipzig and Dortmund first, and then Bayern, it's a great fit for someone at an intermediate skill level.

Adana Demirspor

• Transfer budget: €4.5 million
• Eternal rival: Antalyaspor (unfortunately Adanaspor isn't in the game :) ...)
• League: Süper Lig
• Team star: Mario Balotelli (Position: Striker/Rating: 76/Potential: 76/Age: 30)
• Team's wonderkid: Tayyip Sanuç (Position: Centre-Back/Rating: 65/Potential: 76/Age: 20)

Adana Demirspor was the team that made the most headlines with its transfers over the summer. Bringing in not just Mario Balotelli and Younes Belhanda but also names like Simon Deli, Benjamin Stambouli and Jonas Svensson made us think we'd be watching a "blue lightning" show in the Süper Lig this season, but they're currently underperforming expectations in the league. Taking Adana Demirspor, first securing a spot in the Conference League and then gradually developing the squad over time to try to win the Süper Lig, should be every manager's goal.

Weak Teams You Can Pick in Career Mode

Sutton United

• Transfer budget: €1.3 million
• Eternal rival: AFC Wimbledon
• League: League Two
• Team star: David Ajiboye (Position: Right Winger/Rating: 62/Potential: 69/Age: 22)
• Team's wonderkid: Isaac Olaofe (Position: Striker/Rating: 60/Potential: 69/Age: 20)

There's not much to say about Sutton United, the worst team in the game. With Sutton United, whose goalkeeper Wayne Shaw famously made headlines for eating a sandwich in past years, working your way up through the leagues will honestly take some time. You can pay extra attention to FA Cup draws against big teams, work on developing an academy you don't really have, and embark on a very long adventure to get your team promoted to the Premier League. Starting from the very bottom.

Venezia FC

• Transfer budget: €4 million
• Eternal rival: Hellas Verona
• League: Serie A
• Team star: Sergi Romero (Position: Goalkeeper/Rating: 79/Potential: 79/Age: 34)
• Team's wonderkid: Ethan Ampadu (Position: Centre-Back/Rating: 67/Potential: 81/Age: 20)

Honestly, this team will be a true connoisseur's pick. Venezia, who got promoted to Serie A, Italy's top league, last June after 20 years, won over the hearts of many football fans with their kits just two months later. Of course, there are plenty of other details besides the kits that make them an appealing pick. Wonderkid Ethan Ampadu, whom we've watched with the Welsh national team, young American midfielder Gianluca Busio, and Sergi Romero, who guarded Argentina's national goal for years, are just a few of their eye-catching players. Now let's explain why this team is difficult. You have the worst squad in Serie A, a transfer budget of just €4 million, you've just returned to the league after 20 years, and you're expected to stay there. Will you be able to bring joy to a magnificent cultural city and the Venetians who have such beauty around them? That's where our article ends. Follow our site for more FIFA 22 content!
