What's different in the GTA 6 TV ad?
As GameSpot reports, GTA 6's marketing campaign has moved to television. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that the ads differ in small but visible ways from the launch trailer released on October 15. The 30-second version cuts Jason and Lucia's shower scenes and instead holds a little longer on the plane scene and on the moment the pair stand next to the car. In that shot, Lucia almost falling after Jason playfully shoves her is also easier to see.
The 90-second version
The longer 90-second version keeps the shower scenes but also includes the extended shots from the 30-second spot. So both ads offer a slightly different cut from the trailer. The changes are small, but GTA fan accounts went frame by frame and laid out the differences within hours. Here is a summary of the changes GameSpot spotted:
- Launch trailer (October 15): full cut, including the shower scenes, with platform logos
- 30-second TV ad: no shower scenes, longer plane scene and a longer shot of Jason and Lucia by the car
- 90-second TV ad: keeps the shower scenes along with the extended shots from the 30-second spot
- Both TV ads: no Xbox logo
Why is there no Xbox logo in the GTA 6 TV ad?
The most talked-about detail is that the Xbox logo has been removed completely. GameSpot believes this is tied to Rockstar's reported marketing deal with Sony. Rockstar's official GTA VI page also carries the line "Plays Best On PS5." Still, the game is launching on Xbox Series X|S on the same day, so Xbox players have nothing to worry about.
What does the launch trailer show?
According to the description Rockstar shared with the trailer, GTA VI tells the story of Jason and Lucia in Vice City and the state of Leonida. The launch trailer is set to "Flower in a Hurricane," a track by Justice with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar notes the footage was captured in-game on PS5, and pre-saves are open for the game's album.

GTA VI reveal timeline
Rockstar's official page makes the marketing timeline clear:

- Extended Look video, roughly 27 minutes long: August 27, 2026
