Is GTA 6 Coming to PC? Release Date Speculation

GTA 6's first long trailer generated huge interest, and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for the new game. Plenty of speculation about the game has emerged. From the main characters being Jason and Lucia, to GTA 6's map being the biggest map we've ever seen, to it being playable on PS5 Pro, we've learned a lot of interesting information about the new game, while some details still remain under wraps. Now, GTA 6 fans want the answer to Is GTA 6 coming to PC? When will it release? When is it coming to PC? Let's see if we'll get to see the new game on PC too.

Is GTA 6 Coming to PC? When Is It Coming to PC? 2024

The game will come to PC, but not right when it's released. For now, it's been confirmed that GTA 6 will only come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles at launch. Porting GTA 5 to PC took almost a year and a half, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took a year and a month. We don't yet know whether Rockstar plans to speed up the process for GTA 6, but at worst it looks like we should brace for around a year's wait for the PC version.

A former Rockstar developer who spoke to IGN had this to say on the matter:

"The reason the PC port comes later and isn't the first thing to release is that they want to prioritize what's going to sell. A lot of the time, especially in the past, PlayStation was the best-selling console. PlayStation was the console you had to own. It often outsold every other console. Everyone plays PlayStation."

"One really important thing everyone should remember: one of the main reasons a PC port takes this long is that it has a different architecture and different components."

If GTA 6 releases in late 2025 as we expect, we could see the PC version's development wrap up in late 2026 or early 2027.

When the GTA 6 PC version arrives, it's also likely to offer players the following features:

• Enhanced Graphics Settings

The PC version will let players fine-tune their graphics settings in detail. Features like high-resolution visuals, enhanced lighting effects, more detailed environment modeling, and high frame rates are likely to meet PC players' expectations. Support for 4K and even 8K resolution can also be expected.

• Modding Support

Rockstar Games is known for offering extensive modding support that lets PC players build creative mods and personalize their gameplay experience. GTA 6 is expected to continue that tradition and give players the ability to create mods.
