A GTA Steam sale is live: Rockstar has cut its older games on PC ahead of GTA 6. The Trilogy is 67% off, GTA IV: The Complete Edition is 70% off, and the deals run until November 19.

The timing is hard to miss. GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. While PC players wait for their version, they can at least pick up the series' classics for cheap.

GTA Steam sale: which games and how much?

These are the US prices on the Steam store pages. Regional prices can differ, so check your own store page before you buy.

Game	Regular price	Sale price	Discount	Ends
GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition	$59.99	$19.79	67%	November 19
GTA IV: The Complete Edition	$19.99	$5.99	70%	November 19

Citing IsThereAnyDeal, PC Gamer reports that this is the lowest price the Trilogy has ever hit, while GTA IV sits close to its record low. GTA games rarely drop to 90% off on Steam, so this is a solid deal by the series' standards.

Which one should you buy?

GTA IV: The Complete Edition is the value pick. It bundles the base game with The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. It came out in 2008, but it marked the shift toward the tone the series has today. If you never played the Liberty City story, it is a great start for about six dollars.

The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition packs GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas. Its 2021 launch was rough. Still, PC Gamer notes that Vice City and San Andreas now hold "Very Positive" ratings on Steam, while GTA III sits at "Mixed". Vice City's neon mood is a fun warm-up for GTA 6, which returns to the same city.

New to the series? Where should you start?

The stories stand on their own, so any entry works. Going in release order is still a fun way to see how the series grew. GTA III took it into 3D in 2001. Vice City drew on 1980s Miami. San Andreas spread three cities and wide countryside across one map. GTA IV then brought heavier physics and a darker story. On a tight budget, GTA IV first and Vice City second is a good balance.

Is the sale on consoles too?

According to PC Gamer, there is no sign of matching deals on the Xbox or PlayStation stores right now. For the moment, this is a Steam-only offer. Rockstar has not commented, but an end date that matches GTA 6's launch day hardly looks like a coincidence.
