LG Announces UltraFine OLED Pro Monitors for 2022

In 2021, LG added an OLED-based monitor to its professional product lineup, and now the company has announced its follow-up UltraFine OLED Pro monitors planned for 2022. While the first attempt was available only as a 31.5-inch 4K monitor for $3,999, next year's version will include a 27-inch variant.

The New LG UltraFine OLED Pro Monitor

The 32BP95E and 27BP95E continue to offer the precise lighting control you'd expect from an OLED panel, but these screens aren't designed for gaming, or even for watching TV and movies. LG's DisplayHDR 400 True Black technology ensures everything looks the way it should if you're editing photos or video. They'll also ship with detachable self-calibrating sensors and monitor hoods, using LG's Calibration Studio software to adjust settings for your environment. Other hardware features, like port selection, look similar to the 2021 version. The monitors can accurately display colors covering 99 percent of the DCI-P3 and AdobeRGB color gamuts and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, so it will be hard to find more accurate reproduction on any consumer display. LG didn't note a refresh rate in its press materials, so we'd still expect it to be set at 60Hz. You could buy a pricey display like this and use it for gaming, but it really isn't designed for use in daylit environments or for fast-moving action.
