LoL Patch 12.2 Early Champion Notes

LoL Patch 12.01 just came out, but we're going to take a look at what's coming in 2022's second patch. What do we already know about the patch and the champions? Will Zeri be introduced to League of Legends, and will our favorite jungle cat get some changes in LoL Patch 12.02? Will the meta shift? Let's check it out!

LoL 12.2 Patch Notes Are Out!

Champion Adjustments in LoL Patch 12.02

Janna, Tahm Kench and Rengar will get some adjustments. Rengar in particular struggles on the Chemtech map, so a few changes will be made to his kit, while Tahm Kench wants to move back to bot lane.

Here are all the adjustments Riot has planned for LoL Patch 12.02:

Janna:

• Base movement speed raised to 330
• AD raised to 52 + 3/level
• Q's mana cost changed to 60 - 100, range changed to a minimum of 1100 and maximum of 1760, travel time reduced to 1.25 seconds
• W's range raised to 650 (center to center), slow duration raised to 3 seconds, cooldown raised to 12 seconds, damage raised to 70 - 190, and passive movement speed raised to 8% - 12%
• E's cooldown reduced to 15 - 9 seconds, time before the shield breaks changed to 1.25 seconds, shield amount changed to 80-200 (+.65 AP), and added that it grants 20% heal and shield power for 5 seconds when it slows an enemy champion's movement
• R's healing tick rate changed to 0.25, while total healing stays the same

Tahm Kench:

• Q Slow raised from 40% to 50%
• E Grey Health damage changed from [45/50/55/60/65 >>> 15%/25%/35%/45%/55%, raised to 45%/50%/55%/60%/65% if 2 or more nearby enemy champions have vision of him] and Grey Health's ratio to Health changed from [scaling 30-100% at levels 1-18] to [scaling 45-100% at levels 1-18]
• R Ally Shield, which was [400/500/600 (+100% AP)] for its duration, changed to [500/700/900 (+150% AP)], and Ally Cast, which was [Slows Kench by 30/20/10% for the duration of the devour], changed to [Grants Kench 40% Movement Speed for 3 seconds]

Rengar:

• Rengar will leap while Camouflaged

All System Adjustments in LoL Patch 12.02

System Nerfs in LoL Patch 12.02

Three nerfs are headed for the Rift. No items will be affected, but along with Lethal Tempo, Chemtech and Hextech Soul will see their power drop in the upcoming LoL patch.

• Hextech Soul
• Chemtech Soul
• Lethal Tempo: Attack Speed now scales with level - 10-75% melee and 3-35% ranged

System Buffs in LoL Patch 12.02

Two items will be buffed in LoL Patch 12.02:

• Lich Bane
• Rylai's

Champion Buffs in LoL Patch 12.02

Several champions are fighting to kick off season 12. Two of the most likely faces should be Yone and Yasuo, who always dominate any solo queue meta, but they've seen terrible numbers in 2022 amid the Immortal Shieldbow nerfs.

• Senna: Her Q now slows enemies by 20% (+6%/100AP)(+10%/100 bAD) for 2 seconds
• Yasuo
• Yone
• Tristana
• Nocturne
• Volibear
• Veigar

Champion Nerfs in LoL Patch 12.02

A total of 5 champions will get nerfed in 2022's second patch. Lulu is a cornerstone of bot lane and one of the best supports. Pairing her with the newest champion, Zeri, will probably make her one of the most picked supports once again.

• Shen

LoL's Zeri Takes the Stage

With Zeri's bio accidentally being published on the official League of Legends universe page, we can predict that she'll be playable in LoL Patch 12.02.

It looks like she'll be a very unique champion who runs all over the map and uses energy to speed up her auto attacks. Since she seems to be all about speed, you might want to stack attack speed on her too, but unfortunately her kit hasn't been revealed yet, so we can't be sure how she'll play.

Is LoL's Rengar Changing?

Riot said they'd give Rengar some love early in 2022. According to Riot Phlox on Twitter, unfortunately his interaction changes with the Chemtech map won't ship in LoL Patch 12.01, but in LoL Patch 12.02.

So if you want to try out a new Rengar, you'll have to wait a bit longer. Playing him until he's fixed is going to be pretty painful — or the Chemtech map will be removed from League of Legends entirely because of its interaction with Chemfog.

Is LoL's Janna Changing With Patch 12.2?

At the end of 2021, it was announced that Janna's kit would also see a few changes to shift some of the power from her W ability and auto attacks to the rest of her kit. To do this, the balance team decided to make her Q stronger, increase its damage, and make it easier to land.

This is meant to give her more lane pressure through the buffs to her Q. These changes were originally supposed to ship in LoL Patch 12.01 but were pushed back to LoL Patch 12.02.

What's the LoL Patch 12.2 Meta?

The meta hasn't been determined yet. We'll update our article once it has been.

In the end, LoL Patch 12.02 looks like it's going to bring some big changes to the game. Especially since Riot seems to be trying to shake up the meta in an exciting way and kick off the new Season with a bang!
