Hallowed Praise

This blade is the reward for defeating Gentle Gaverus and is one of the best weapons designed for melee combat in the early stages of the game. Requiring only 12 Agility to use properly, this weapon combines physical damage that scales with every upgrade alongside a certain amount of holy damage. What really makes this weapon great is its quite high bleed stat, which increases the chance that repeated hits will inflict a bleed status on your enemies.

Bloodlust

You can buy this from one of the vendors. It also has relatively low requirements, needing only 13 Agility and 13 Inferno. Its physical damage potential is quite solid at base level, but it also deals the same amount of fire damage. On top of that, you get 60 points in both bleed and burn status buildup, which means you're covering a lot of bases whenever you hit an enemy with this weapon. These have even more damage potential on top of that. When combined with the Poison Weapon spell and various upgrades to boost its raw damage, this sword can comfortably handle even the toughest enemies.

Putrid Child Sword

You can get this weapon as a drop from enemies in the Fief of the Chill Curse. It requires a significant investment: eight points in Strength and 14 points each in both Radiance and Inferno. But once you've done that, you get both physical and decay-based damage that scales with every upgrade. On top of that, if you land enough hits on enemies in quick succession, you'll trigger a freeze status that most enemies later in the game can't resist much.

Charm of Fortune's Sight

This is a catalyst, which is a piece of equipment required for casting spells. The main reason to choose this weapon is that it only requires 12 points in both Radiance and Inferno, and still lets you cast four different types of spells with boosted spell power damage. It's also easily accessible, being purchasable from Molhu at Skyrest, making it a great option for non-magic builds to have around if they need extra elemental support.

Bow of the Convert

What makes this weapon stand out, besides its 16 Agility requirement, is how much status buildup each arrow you fire can potentially cause. Arrows are given 60 stacks each of bleed, burn, and poison buildup on every hit, so if you use Radiant Arrows with them, you'll get an additional 80 stacks of bleed buildup along with the high physical and holy damage of that arrow type.

On your way down from Pilgrim's Perch, in the area where you can take the elevator back to the Vestige, there are several enemy dogs and a knight. Kill them all and loot the area to find the key to the prison cell. Head to the giant cell in this area and talk to the woman there.
