Manor Lords Sheep Guide: How to Get Sheep
You'll need a really solid infrastructure in place to add sheep to your town. First, you can buy them from a livestock trading post, so you'll need plenty of Regional Wealth (30 each). Next, you'll need to find them a place to be kept, like a sheep farm or a pasture. You'll also need a sheep farm to shear the sheep.
You'll need a weaver's workshop to turn the wool the sheep farm produces into thread. If you want to turn that thread into something usable, keep in mind you'll also need a burgage plot (level 2) with a tailor extension and a dye shop. Producing your first ball of thread takes a lot of buildings and jobs.
What to Watch Out for When Raising Sheep
- Don't neglect developing your sheep farming.
- Lambs never become sheep. At this point in the game's development, lambs stay lambs forever.
- To add sheep, you'll only need a livestock trading post (2 planks), a building dedicated solely to managing your town's animals.
- You need to build a pasture. If you want more than five sheep, you'll need more space for them. That's where the pasture (free) comes in. It's a flexible area where your sheep can roam.
- Sheep farms produce wool. You'll need a weaver's workshop (4 planks) to process the wool. This turns the wool into thread.
- You need to turn a dye shop and a burglary plot (level 2) into a tailor's workshop (5 Regional Wealth, 5 planks).
- Keep in mind that the most useful thing your sheep can do for you is fertilize your fallow farmland, and you'll need at least two development points to do that.
- With fertilizing, you can add fences to your farm fields by clicking the fence-up button and spending 5 timber.
- If you unlock sheep farming, sheep in pastures will periodically produce lambs.
- Your livestock trader can be set to export these lambs, but you need to keep an eye on the global market supply.
