TFT 12.9 Patch Notes: Balance Changes and Dragonlands Teaser

TFT Set 6 is finally coming to an end. Gizmos & Gadgets revolutionized the auto-battler inspired by League of Legends with the beloved Hextech Augments system, unique units like Silco, and more. Riot is carrying everything it's learned into TFT Set 7 and beyond, but there's some fun to be had first. Let's take a closer look at the TFT 12.9 patch notes:

Wild Changes Coming With the "For Fun" Patches

It's the end of Set 6, which means Riot is going a bit wild with balance. If you're deep into the late-season ranked grind, this might be a little annoying, but the developers aren't throwing everything out the window. Developer Stephen 'Mortdog' Mortimer opened the floor to the community and let them weigh in on the buffs Riot should apply for the final updates. The responses ranged from making Augments like Gold Reserves unlimited, to removing traits like Enforcer, all the way to some fun carry units like Poppy.

Patch 12.9 (May 11th) is the "For Fun" patch for Neon Nights, and will include some spicy stuff that should make the final month fun. It's also focusing on buffing a lot of stuff that isn't as standard.

Not all of the community's changes will make it in, but expect the unexpected when it comes to balance in the TFT 12.9 patch.

Set 7 Dragonlands Teasers Kick Off

With TFT Set 7 Dragonlands set to launch in Patch 12.11, Riot is releasing teasers in the next update to get players excited too. This includes a special Dragon Egg that every player will receive at the start of each match, which will eventually hatch into something usable. Every player gets exactly the same value, so there's no need to worry about losing the egg RNG. The Hatching Egg also has a teaser of its own: "There are always stories from the old days, whispering of gifts from blessed ancients. Before technology, and before Hextech, there were dragons."
