It's been announced that Teamfight Tactics' Double Up mode (double up) will become a permanent mode in the game and won't be removed.
TFT Double Up Mode Is Becoming a Permanent Mode
Until now, Double Up mode was part of Riot Games' Labs program, created to test new ways of playing Teamfight Tactics. The mode quickly became one of the most popular modes in the game, and players repeatedly said they wanted it to become a permanent mode. Building a team out of units from a shared pool with a teammate and leveling up is an incredibly fun experience, but traditional lobbies pit players against each other. Double Up mode changes that by letting players send teammates, items, and gold to each other, giving them an advantage for teamwork. With all this in mind, it's easy to understand why the mode has become so popular with players. That's why Riot Games has announced that the mode will remain in the game permanently, along with a number of new features.
TFT Double Up Mode: What's New?
- A brand-new color-based ranking system aims to give players a more fun experience.
- A system is being developed so that players won't gain LP based on the order they enter lobbies when there are more than two players in them.
- A ranked system specific to Double Up mode is being introduced.
- Player support features, like reporting teammates who go AFK, will be included.
- Team colors will now be easier to tell apart.
- Double Up gameplay balance is being worked on to develop healthier metas.
