VALORANT S Tier Agents

Fade
Fade, the latest Agent to join the ranks in VALORANT, has been an absolute game changer since her release in Patch 4.08. Entering S-tier on the move, Fade's initiation abilities, combined with her blinding and locking abilities, make her an excellent Initiator. Designed with a Fear theme, the Agent's abilities can make everyone afraid when Fade is in a match. The new Agent, who has replaced Sova as the go-to pick in VALORANT, seems set to keep her place at the top of the lists for now. Although Fade is not a Duelist who can attack and get out of trouble from the first trailers, she can play very fast with her toolkit to suppress and hunt down enemies, and she is really skilled.
Chamber
Chamber is one of the latest Agents introduced to VALORANT - arriving with a bang at the end of Episode 3. The French Sentinel is fourth in the category, with a kit that includes teleportation and a mix of other Agents such as Killjoy and Yoru, with his alarm bot. Previously many Agents started at the top of the list but quickly fell down, like KAY/O and Yoru. However, Chamber stays at the top. Chamber originally entered the power rankings at A-tier, and after settling in with the rest of the roster, he effortlessly earned a place in S-tier.
Omen
Once a must-pick Agent, Omen was dropped to B-tier after some quite strong nerfs. However, he retained his place at the top of the tier list for Controllers, and after the recent buffs and balance changes, Omen is on top again. The Agent is an excellent Controller and can be an absolute game changer in tough situations. Omen's toolkit lets him set up perfectly advantageous scenarios for his team, whether it is defending or taking a post-plant area, or stopping the enemy from controlling an area. Slowly but surely, Omen is back to being dominant as he once was, and is probably the best. Considering how good the Agent can be in most situations, you should try to pick him in every game as long as you understand his abilities and role.
Skye
Skye did not explode onto VALORANT so much as sneak into it. But as time passed, players grasped the Agent's skill set, and now the Agent is being used well. She was also one of the lucky ones who got away with a slight buff in Episode 3. Sure, she lost one of her flashes, but she can now generate a recharge mid-round and her concussion is much stronger. Between her heals, flashes and other utility, Skye is the best at entering sites. Although she has a steeper learning curve than other Agents, those who master her will be greatly rewarded.
VALORANT A Tier Agents

Jett
After staying at the very top for a very long time, the recent nerfs in the 4.08 update dropped Jett from the top tier. Riot first nerfed her Blade Storm, then her Cloudburst, and hit her entire kit in Episode 3. But even these nerfs were not enough. After VCT Masters Berlin, Riot hit Jett once again, this time removing the right-click on Blade Storm and one of her smokes. Despite all the nerfs, Jett was still strong at the top of the VALORANT meta. The Operator enthusiasts in Episode 3 certainly helped keep her at the top (without them, she would probably have been knocked down earlier). Although she offers almost nothing in terms of utility to the team - apart from smoking for a very short time from certain angles - her fragging ability is still among the best in VALORANT, which is why she earns a comfortable place in A-tier of the VALORANT Agent tier list.
Brimstone
It seems we were a bit too wary about Brimstone's place on the VALORANT tier list. Thanks to handy buffs in early Episode 2, he glided upward and has kept rapidly growing in popularity since then. After the recent buffs and changes up to Episode 4 Act 3, he is much better than before. With longer Sky Smokes, more deployment range and a cheaper Incendiary Molotov, he is arguably the best Agent to have with you for a quick site hit. In addition, the Orbital Strike ultimate gives you tons of control by blocking entire areas, such as U-Hall on Bind. There is also now a real reason to question which smoke agent you bring. On some maps like Bind, you may want to take Brimstone instead. That said, with competition between Omen, Astra and Viper heating up, Brimstone finds himself often overlooked in the current meta.
Yoru
Yoru originally entered our list from A-Tier, but after that he slid down the list for a long time. Why? Although Yoru filled a gap in his ambush role, he failed to displace any meta Duelist. Although he was not largely underpowered, his kit was certainly worse than the others'. His flashes were easy to dodge, his teleport was too noisy and his footsteps did not trap anyone. The only useful thing was his Ultimate for getting behind enemy lines and gathering intel. However, since his recent rework, Yoru has become an exceptional pick for many players. Given his ability to control enemy Agents, Yoru once again finds himself sitting comfortably in the A-tier of this list.
Sova
Since the Cypher nerfs, Sova has become one of VALORANT's best intel-gathering Agents. Sure, he is a very complex character, but if you take the time to master him, it will be worth it. By mastering certain lineups with Sova's bolts, the Agent offers a different approach to the pursuit of intel that nothing else can match. His Owl Drone should also not be forgotten, as it provides a perfect entry into a site when combined with an ally right behind it. Like most Agents, he was nerfed in Episode 3, but he is still one of the must-haves in any game. The ability to scout ahead is unique, and with an Owl Drone or Recon Bolt in hand, it is like having a sixth man.
Viper
Viper finally pulled herself out of the swamp in Episode 3 and quickly climbed to the top of the tier list rankings. But in Episode 4, the American Controller dropped to A-tier. Even so, don't let her drop in the power rankings fool you. The Agent was much loved in VALORANT Patch 2.06, and despite a quick follow-up nerf in Patch 2.09, she is still one of the most fitting Controllers in the game. Although she was once not incredibly flexible, her reworked kit has fixed most of her problems. From being able to take back Poison Cloud smokes to the first Decay mark when enemies pass through her Toxins, she can quickly shred enemies. If you need to lock down sites on your own, there is no Smoke Agent better equipped than Viper.
Reyna
Although Reyna is not what she used to be after being hit with major nerfs in recent patches, the Duelist is still an incredible choice for those hungry for action. With fewer charges of her Devour ability, she cannot be as aggressive as before, since the damage will now increase. At least now the souls even drop for assists rather than just kills. She is still very good for those who are selfish at heart - no doubt about it - but she will not go 1v9 as in her former glory days.
VALORANT B Tier Agents

Breach
Breach is one of VALORANT's most versatile Agents, able to go into battle with any weapon but lacking abilities like Jett's and Phoenix's. Both Aftershock and Flashpoint are designed to let you break through enemy lines; a great tool while your team is taking a site. Breach's Signature and Ultimate abilities can completely disrupt the battlefield in the blink of an eye. Provided you have the necessary intel on where the enemy is, both Fault Line and Rolling Thunder make taking map control a relatively easy process. He is a great Agent to have with you, and you truly cannot go wrong picking him. Although he is one of the most stable Agents in the game, in most situations you can find better options.
Neon
While many Agents shot to the top of the power rankings from the moment they were released, Neon did not quite hit the mark and made her debut on this list in B-tier. The fast-paced Filipino Duelist was not exactly a disappointing addition to VALORANT when she was released in Episode 4, but she does not perform as well as the other Agents on this list. However, the Duelist's rocket-like speed and electric energy make Neon extremely fun to play, flattening anyone who gets in her team's way. Hopefully we will see a buff in the near future to move the speedy Agent higher on the VALORANT Agent tier list.
Killjoy
Killjoy can operate far outside the boundaries of Sentinel status. Her abilities make her one of the strongest Agents on Defense, while she can also be extremely useful on Attack. The Nanoswarm grenade can be incredibly effective in the early stages of the round - even if it is not triggered, it offers valuable area denial. The same goes for post-plants. However, Killjoy is not as good as she was on release. She cannot roam the whole map and expect her bots to do their jobs. She needs to stay close to each Reactor Area to make sure all her utility is online. Not only that, if she now needs to rotate, her bots now have 20-second cooldowns. These changes really hurt her when it comes to it. She still has a purpose - her Lockdown Ultimate is one of the best in the game - but she is not as flexible as the other Agents on this tier list.
Kay/O
KAY/O launched in Episode 3 Act 1 and easily moved into S tier after release. However, after a few months KAY/O quickly dropped to the bottom of the tier list and then came back again. However strong KAY/O's flash is, executing the Agent optimally can be quite difficult, which may lead many players not to pick KAY/O. That said, recent buffs and balance changes have brought KAY/O back to B-tier, making him a challenging Agent in VALORANT.
Raze
Raze is a Duelist all about area denial. While you are busy handling the fight up close and personal, all of her abilities will keep the enemy on the back foot. Equipped with a Boom Bot for basic intel, a Blast Pack to boost her to places that give a vertical advantage, and a set of up to two cluster grenades with a destructive radius - it is easy to see why Raze can be destructive on both Attack and defense. That is not to mention her incredible Ultimate, which can be deadly at both close and long range. Raze's bombs keep her a mainstay in most team compositions. However, the Agent has certainly fallen a few places from where she was in VALORANT's early days, which brings her to a comfortable place in B-tier of this list.
Sage
VALORANT's resident doctor was once an essential Agent on any team. She was pushed down quite hard with some major nerfs, but her ability set consistently keeps her from dropping to the bottom of the tier list. Despite the nerf, both her Slow Orb and Barrier Orb are useful for temporarily cornering certain parts of the map, or an early kill. Sage's Orbs aside, the Agent's Resurrection ability can turn the course of a round in your favor, especially in a clutch situation where the man advantage can be crucial. Although it currently costs eight points, there is still no better ability on the game bar, which is why she deserves B-Tier.
VALORANT C Tier Agents

Cypher
Cypher was once the king of intel in VALORANT. But after Patch 1.11, he had to leave the throne to Sova. He is still effective, but losing his Trapwires after death really hurt his place in the power rankings. He can still be a one-man army as he once was, closing off sites with cameras and cages and telling his team what he sees or does not see. Neural Theft is also incredibly useful for reading enemy plays and forcing their hand, and the cost reduction in Episode 3 certainly helps even now. Good Cyphers are still an invaluable resource for any team. However, Killjoy can be much better at locking down whole sites using her ultimate. Cypher will not be in the upper tiers without serious changes, so he will set up camp in C-tier for now.
Astra
Astra... is a bit too galaxy-brained for VALORANT. She has the potential to be great in the right hands - and pros certainly made use of her at Masters - but she is a hard nut to crack for the average Joe. Her kit is loaded with utility that makes her practically an all-in-one controller. Smokes, stuns, gravity wells and a massive screen that blocks damage and sound; it is more a matter of what she cannot do. The biggest downsides used to be Astra's complexity and vulnerability. However, although players got past those downsides, the recent nerfs to the Agent really hurt her position on our VALORANT Agent tier list.
VALORANT D Tier Agents

Phoenix
Phoenix is the prime example of VALORANT's "most average" Agent. There is nothing to write about him, but he is not too bad either. The British Duelist does his job, that is all. Among all Duelists, he is one of the biggest team players, dedicating himself to the entry race with his Run It Back ultimate. His flashes are also quite effective, and he can heal himself when he takes damage. He just does not have the same standout power as a Jett running and darting all over the map, or a Reyna who can go on a kill spree with her heals and invulnerability. However, good Phoenix players look great no matter the situation.
