VALORANT Champions 2021's Day 9 saw the quarterfinal matches played out, and the semifinalists were decided. On the tournament's ninth day, we watched Gambit Esports – X10 CRIT and Fnatic – KRÜ Esports face off. On this final night of quarterfinal action, tooth-and-nail battles kept us glued to our screens. Teams fought each other for the last two spots in the semifinals.

Gambit Esports – X10 CRIT Match Result

The day's opening match was Gambit Esports versus X10 CRIT. In the tournament's third quarterfinal match, the maps were, in order, Fracture, Ascent, and Breeze. The CIS team made it clear to us viewers on the first map that they would win it, especially with a 7-0 run. Gambit Esports capped off their dominant performance on Fracture with a comfortable 13-7 win, with "d3ffo" as the map's standout player. On the series' second map, Ascent, X10 seemed to have reset itself compared to the first map. On a map where "foxv" and "Patiphan" carried their team, X10 became the team that won the map 13-7. On the series' final map, Breeze, X10 — who were never effective once they switched to defense — bowed out of the tournament with a 13-7 scoreline. With this result, Gambit Esports became the 3rd EMEA team to reach the semifinals.

Fnatic – KRÜ Esports Match Result

The day's second match was played between Fnatic and KRÜ Esports. The match started around 23:45, with the series' maps set as Haven, Icebox, and Split. On the first map, Fnatic couldn't secure the win despite Derke's outstanding performance. KRÜ Esports won the map 15-13. On the series' second map, KRÜ player keznit's individual efforts weren't enough. Even though the Chilean team's duelist played with a 28/13 K/D ratio, Fnatic won the map 13-6 with excellent teamwork. Tension remained at its highest on the series' final map. On the map that would decide who advanced to the semifinals, the loser would bow out of the tournament. KRÜ Esports, who kept control of the pressure and directed it well, won the map 13-8 and the series 2-1 on Split. KRÜ Esports became Gambit Esports' opponent in the semifinals.
