Wuthering Waves, developed and published by Kuro Games, is an upcoming open-world gacha action RPG. The new free-to-play game is getting ready to join the ranks of popular gacha titles with its striking anime-style characters and a vast world waiting to be explored. Players will take on the role of Rover, tasked with protecting a post-apocalyptic world from monstrous beings left behind by a mysterious calamity. What is the Wuthering Waves release date? During its latest Special Program broadcast, Kuro Games announced that the game will launch on May 22, 2024. You can pre-register for Wuthering Waves via the official website, the App Store, or Google Play.

Wuthering Waves Release Date: What Are the Characters and Gameplay Like?

Alongside a standard stamina system for running, sliding, climbing, and swimming, characters will also be able to sprint up a mountain and even dash across walls at speed. The game will also feature double jumps and grapple hooks that make exploration more immersive and heighten the exciting sense of traversal. The game's core mechanics are as follows:

• Dodge: Performing a dodge consumes stamina, similar to a dash, and lets you quickly evade enemy attacks from any direction. Pressing the normal attack button right after a Perfect Dodge triggers a powerful Dodge Counter.
• Parry: Many enemy attacks, marked by a white circle on screen, can be parried. A successful parry not only negates the damage but also builds up the enemy's stagger gauge. Once the gauge is full, the enemy is staggered, leaving them open to a string of attacks.

The game currently has a roster of 16 anime-style characters. Each character comes equipped with a diverse arsenal that includes chained basic attacks, heavy attacks, a unique Resonance Skill (E), a powerful Resonance Liberation (Ultimate/R), an Outro Skill and Intro Skill (which makes up the QTE), and a special Resonance Skill (E). The game also features five weapon types: Rectifier, Gauntlets, Broadblade, Pistols, and Sword.
