Why Is Among Us Called "Who's the Impostor"?

It's a game you play with a team of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 players in multiplayer mode. Before this game came out, a similar game was played with playing cards and was also called who's the killer. Don't be surprised if you get a question like that when explaining Among Us to a friend. As for the game itself, you have to find the impostor among you and eliminate them before they eliminate you, in order to keep your spaceship together and avoid losing your crewmates.

About Among Us

A parasitic shapeshifter takes the place of some of your crewmates. Their goal is to eliminate the rest of the crew before the ship gets home. The impostor will sabotage the ship, sneak through vents, and try to deceive you.

Everyone takes care of the ship's maintenance until something happens. When a body is reported, the surviving crew names the person they think is the Impostor, and the discussion begins. The impostor's goal is to act like a crew member and avoid raising suspicion. If the impostor manages to stay hidden and isn't voted out, everyone goes back to maintaining the ship until another body is found. If a vote is held against the Impostor and they are ejected, the crew wins!

Do You Have to Join With a Friend to Play Among Us Online?

No, there are plenty of people in your country and even around the world who want to add someone to their crew or help find the impostor. All you have to do is join their multiplayer lobby and share in the fun. On the language side, if you only speak Turkish you should pick Turkish lobbies, and if you want to play in an English-speaking lobby, you should avoid groups where someone has hit the "refuse to speak English" button.

What Is Among Us Gameplay Like?

Since it's played with simple controls, like swiping or tapping a direction and pointing and clicking, you don't need to worry too much about that side of it. There's also a separate option for talking and chatting with others if you suspect someone in the group is the impostor. Throughout the game, you and the other crewmates have to repair the ship's computers and find important cards and keys.
