We're expecting the Black Ops series to return next year as Call of Duty 2024. In the past few hours, InsiderGaming reported that not only is Black Ops Gulf War coming for 2024, but a sequel to Black Ops 2 is also coming for Call of Duty 2025. So when will CoD 2025 release? Here's everything we know about the game:

What Will CoD 2024 Gulf War Be Like?

Treyarch is returning to Call of Duty next year; we've heard some reports that their next game will be a new Black Ops title called Black Ops Gulf War. Black Ops Gulf War will be a Treyarch-led game with a Multiplayer and round-based Zombies experience. This game will run on the new IW engine (the engine behind MW2019, Vanguard, MW2 and MW3) and will have the same gameplay features as its predecessor.

Will Call of Duty 2025 Be a Sequel to Black Ops 2?

Following the same format as MW3, the game will pick up a year after the previous entry, continuing the previous title in a saga (Modern Warfare & Black Ops). However, the story won't be a direct continuation of COD 2024 — instead, it will cover Black Ops 2. That means the sequel will arrive more than 10 years after Black Ops 2's original release. Nothing is known yet about the plot of the operation. This game won't be led by Treyarch. Sledgehammer Games will once again take the reins to make the sequel. The game will feature the following:

• Multiplayer
  • Set in 2030
• Zombies
  • Round-based Zombies

Will CoD 2025 Have Multiplayer?

The game is expected to have multiplayer. It will most likely include the Carry Forward feature found in MW3.

What Will the CoD 2025 Maps Be Like?

The featured maps will heavily include BO2's MP maps alongside some new maps. Initially, it was set to launch with BO2's MP map, but due to the backlash from MW3, they seem to be pulling back a bit. It looks like we'll most likely wrap up the game with every BO2 map by 2026. We think we'll see a mix of the current class-building system with Pick 10 in the game.

What We Know About Call of Duty 2025 Zombies

Similar to MW3, there will be close collaboration between SHG and Treyarch, but we'll be introduced to round-based Zombies. Besides the possibility of a Zombies Chronicles 2, there are also rumors that remastered maps from previous games will be included for the launch window.

What Is the CoD 2025 Release Date?

For now, no firm information has been given about the release date; we don't know exactly when we'll see the game, which is expected to arrive in 2025.
