OSM's Unbeatable 4-3-3 B Away Tactic
OSM's 4-3-3 B away tactic pairs low-attack defenders and wing forwards with a Wing Play style, 55 pressing and 70 tempo to grind out results against stronger teams.
- The best OSM away tactic against a stronger team is a 4-3-3 B system, as an alternative to 4-5-1, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.
- Picking the right defensive midfielder and wing players boosts the team's attacking power in this setup.
- Using wing forwards up front strengthens the team's pressing and goal-scoring strategy on the road.
OSM's Unbeatable 4-3-3 B Tactic for Crucial Away Games
We've put together the best 4-3-3 tactic you can use against a stronger team, as an alternative to the usual 4-5-1, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 systems.

How Do You Set Up the Best Away Tactic in OSM?
Whether you play with a back four or a back three, we've covered away tactics to fit whatever logic you want to play with in our video:
OSM Away 4-3-3 B Defense Lineup
The first thing you need to pay attention to is using the defenders with the lowest attack scores. The higher your players' attack stat, the more they'll push forward and chase a goal. We need to use what's called "rooted" defenders, because what we want from our defenders is to not leave the opposing forwards unmarked in the box.
OSM Away 4-3-3 B Midfield Lineup
In the center of midfield, you should again fill your defensive midfielder slot with your strongest defensive player. To the right and left of your defensive midfielder, you should use attacking players known as wingers in modern football. When choosing your attacking midfielder, the thing to watch for is that the player's attack and defense values should be far apart. The lower an attacking player's defense is, the more they'll attack and chase goals. And what we want on the away trip is to score without conceding.

OSM Away 4-3-3 B Forward Lineup
For our forwards, we shouldn't use a pivot striker, and instead should place the player type we call wing forwards. Having at least 25 in defense will be ideal for our wing players to push up front. Making all three of our forwards wing forwards turns them into a front three that presses forward and chases chances.
OSM Away 4-3-3 B Playstyle Tactic
For playstyle, we'll apply the "Wing Play" plan. You can also play the 4-3-3 B and 4-3-3 A formations as "Passing Game", but because the players we're using have strong wing attributes, playing with the "Wing Play" style will put us a step ahead.
OSM Away 4-3-3 B Line Tactics
It's important for the forwards to drop back one position. When playing away against stronger players than us, pulling our forwards back into midfield and launching an all-out attack the moment we win the ball will bring us the score. In defense and midfield, the hold position option should be active.
OSM Away 4-3-3 B Marking, Tackling Style, Pressing and Tempo Tactics
You should set the Marking option to Zonal Marking.
The Offside Trap should stay on No.
It helps to set your tackling style based on the referee — if the referee isn't inclined to show cards, you can push it all the way up to very aggressive. If you like playing with risk, you can go very aggressive even against strict referees. In most away games, your opponents will win anyway because they're taking the risks.
Setting Pressing to 55 is enough. There's no point going much higher away from home. If your opponent's stadium is level 3, the match will already be hard enough. Pressing hard can cost you the ball and leave you open to a counter-attack. That's why 55 is an ideal number for Pressing.
For style, we shouldn't play offensively. Against an opponent that's stronger in squad and stats, you should set Balanced to 55.
For tempo, you should set it to 70. Away from home, a team that runs at full pace and pushes for the goal will bring you the win.
Who Should Be OSM Captain, and Take Free Kicks, Penalties and Corners?
The player with the highest strength should be captain.
Penalties should be taken by your strongest striker.
Free kicks should be taken by your player with the highest average.
For corners, your player with the second-highest average should be over the ball.
