What happened in the first two days of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026?

The event opened with a run of upsets. According to HLTV, Spirit, MOUZ and Aurora all lost on day one. Liquid beat MOUZ 2-1, and BETBOOM edged Spirit by the same score.

In a Swiss stage, teams with the same record play each other. Three wins sends a team to the playoffs, three losses sends it home. Losing the opener is not fatal, but it leaves far less room for mistakes.

How did FUT get to 2-0?

FUT opened with a 2-0 win over TYLOO, taking Nuke 13-9 and Ancient 13-6. HLTV named Spanish AWPer SunPayus as the standout. He joined FUT from G2's bench this month and finished his debut series with 34 kills, 18 deaths and a 1.47 rating.

FUT were 2-7 down on Nuke at one point. They closed the half just two rounds behind, then won the second pistol round and pulled away. Ancient followed a similar pattern. Entry fragger dem0n and Krabeni also made big contributions.

Aurora's event started well. They won Inferno 16-12 in overtime, and HLTV praised a fantastic performance from Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın. The MongolZ then turned the series around with a 13-2 Nuke and a 13-9 Dust2.

Aurora meet G2 in the 0-1 pool today, October 25. HLTV's schedule lists the match at 14:00 UTC (17:00 in Turkey). The two teams have not met since BLAST Open Porto. G2 also lost their opener, falling to Natus Vincere 13-11 on Nuke and 22-19 on a triple-overtime Dust2. The loser drops to 0-2 and plays for survival.

Spirit opened day two by crushing TYLOO 13-5 on Mirage and 13-3 on Anubis to move to 1-1. Vitality and The MongolZ meet in the 1-0 pool. The biggest match of the evening is FURIA against Natus Vincere, scheduled for 17:00 UTC.
