Adobe Photoshop Web Version: How to Use the Free Canada Test

Adobe is planning to offer a scaled-down, web-based version of the popular Photoshop software to everyone for free, but right now it's only available to users in Canada. The company is testing the Photoshop web version in the Canadian market and plans to roll it out to the rest of the world at a later date. This free version will include many of the features people expect from Photoshop and will compete with most of the best free photo editors out there. However, at least half of the tools are locked. Adobe hopes that will be enough to convince you to sign up for the paid version.

How Do You Use the Adobe Photoshop Web Version?

The company began offering a web-based version of Photoshop and Illustrator last year, though far more scaled down than the full program. For example, web users could play around with layers and leave comments, but that was about it. The web version was also only available to Creative Cloud subscribers. This new free version of Photoshop web only requires a free Creative Cloud account. No subscription is needed.

Eric Snowden, vice president of design, said in a public blog post, "No matter how they want to work, it's crucial for us to make it easier for people to create and collaborate with collaborators and stakeholders." Adobe is aggressively pivoting to becoming more cloud-based and offering its products to regular consumers instead of just a niche group of professionals with high-end computers. Still, the web-based versions of Photoshop and Illustrator have so far been significantly scaled down.

The Photoshop being tested in Canada is different. It's significantly more powerful and has the potential to offer a full Photoshop experience on low-power computers like Chromebooks. It comes with a range of tools such as automatic masking, object selection, neural filters, color transfers, and a plugin marketplace. Most of the core features from last year's web-based Photoshop are also present. According to Adobe, Illustrator Interop was wildly popular. It lets users copy vector images from Illustrator directly into a Photoshop project. AI keeps layers consistent between the two web-based programs. However, this doesn't work between the full versions of the programs and the web versions. It's unclear whether Adobe plans to bring more Creative Cloud apps to the web. That might not be possible for some heavy applications like Premiere Pro. The company is staying tight-lipped about the details of its web plans.

When Will the Adobe Photoshop Web Version Come to Türkiye?

Adobe hasn't announced when this new version of Photoshop on the web will roll out to the rest of the world. Testing in Canada has just begun, and it may take some time before it spreads to everyone. In the meantime, users outside Canada can keep using the basic Photoshop and Illustrator for web, or try an alternative.
